Reliable generator - louder than advertised

Generator has been reliably starting up with push button on the first try after an initial break in period. Initial starts were accompanied by a small cloud of exhaust but these have also mostly gone away. Power coming from the generator has more than met my needs. Largest electrical demands for me are microwave, coffee maker, two refrigerators, toaster oven, electric oven (haven’t needed it during any outage) along with lights and outlets. Disappointingly, the generator has proven to be louder than advertised. A claim of 72 dB was made on the website product page but I have not ever been any where close to that. Using the Soundprint app on my iPhone 11 Pro, the noise above the generator measures 90-91 dB. At roughly 20 feet from the generator the noise decreases to 80 dB. The advertised noise rating of this generator was a primary reason for the purchase and to have it not be close was extremely frustrating. If you want something quieter, go with an inverter. If you don’t mind a little noise, and truly all standard generators are loud, this generator will fit the bill.
I have a transfer switch rated to 7500 W with an allowable surge aligned with the surge capacity of this generator. Very good fit with my system. Great features, good price. Highly recommend.
I bought this generator to replace a pull start one. I needed an electric start due to shoulder surgery. After little assembly and adding oil and connecting battery, it started right up with remote start. It runs quiet than my old one, which had produced less watts. I researched many brands and models and this one fit my fit my needs, was available, and very reasonably priced. Though I've only started it once, I'm very pleased. I have it as a back-up, when electricity goes out.
