No Power Right Out of the Box

Brand new, out of the box and there is no 120 V output. The GFCI on both 120 V outlets do not seem to work. I did not check the 220 V circuit. Good grief.

Hope I never have to use it. Frame was dented and scratched. Serial number tag was damaged but I was able get it off of the box. Would give it 5* if it was not damaged.

I replaced a 5500 watt Genarc with the WGen7500 because I was looking for an electric start and more power. The Westinghouse model was easy to assemble (just bolt on the wheels) and started right up after adding oil and gas. It's VERY user friendly and seems a bit quieter than my last generator. At 200 pounds, it is by no means light and requires a bit of muscle to move around. However, the big wheels and handle make it tolerable. Also note that Westinghouse is throwing in a bonus gift of a cover or plug strip if you review the product during the warranty registration process.

Easy to start; time will tell more about power quality, etc.

Full disclosure, this review is incentivized when registering the product. I wondered why there are so many more + reviews for Westinghouse generators..and that must be the reason. We have yet to use this generator in a power outage, but it did start easily right out of the box using the electric start and we had no problem powering up various saws and compressors simultaneously. The padded fold-away handle makes it very easy to move the generator around. Time will tell more about the power quality and durability of the generator, but for now we are happy with our purchase and the 3-year warranty that comes with it.

This generator was purchased because of power failure due to a big storm. I needed something that would be strong enough to power my whole house but not destroy my savings account. This machine more than delivers on all fronts. It has been referred to the "Mercedes" of generators by friends and family. The remote start/stop feature is an added luxury that most won't use but is fun anyway. When I unboxed all I had to do was install the wheels (simple setup) add the included oil then filled with super unleaded. Battery was charged enough to push button start. It turned over on half of the first crank. Ran like a charm. Next step is wiring it to my panel. Bring on the next outage!

After I finally found the directions it wasn't hard to put together. I have a electric wench in my garage or it would have to be a two man job. Hooking up the battery terminals was a pain because of space restrictions. Whomever designed the boots for the battery terminals should be forced to put them on 20 times. I'd bet he'd come up with a better design. The starting directions were very clear and concise. Once I added the oil (it would be nice to know the oil capacity) and gas it started right up and all the 120 outlets worked. Both the push button and the remote start worked as advertised. I haven't tried the 240 yet. At this point I would say I'm pretty happy with it.
