Confident Power When You Need It Most!

Received my WesGen7500 unpacked it, put the wheels on, put in the oil, added some gas to the good sized tank and pushed the Start Button. It started almost instantly. Next day electrician came over and installed a 30 amp transfer switch next to my panel. Plugged in the power supply line from my new WesGen7500, shut off my panel breakers, opened the transfer circuits and my house lit up like a Christmas tree. We're in business and have valuable peace of mind if ever we loose power and need reliable electricity to keep our house warm, cozy and fully functioning.

Excellent features

Set up the transfer switch ahead of time. WGen out of the box, install wheels, add oil, connect battery and fuel source, plug into generac outlet, then push start. Switch on main breakers whole house was up and running, 2300 sq ft.
Loved the remote start. We had that on the night stand and off cycled the unit about 10PM and back on when we got up at 5AM. Saved fuel, food in fridge perfect, wood burning stove for warm house, power for coffee in the am. Checked the fuel gauge and added as required before going to work. Was able to get about 14 hours between fill ups.

It is a Westinghouse which my mother worked for during WW Il. It is made in China a setback for our country. I have not used this except to start. Easy to put together comes with battery a plus. Has many parts that make it easy for automatic start. Remote start. Actually great direction for mechanically impaired. Wife assembly of tough parts for disability type person. 4 cylinder not two so if maintained it will carry load. I have to say really looks mechanically strong. I wish I was able to give a good run test in outage to give that opinion. Not as quiet as stated but I won't care during outages of a week or more. Overall I see a decent machine.

Set up was fast and easy and you can tell this is a well built unit will all metal components. It weighed in at around 200 pounds but with the included wheel kit it was easy to move around which is great for my wife to use in case I'm not home. After installing the wheels, connecting the battery, adding oil (included) and gas it started right up with the push of a button. I ran it for 3 hours with no load on it and then changed the oil as I do with all my small engines. We live in NC and with a once every century hurricane happening every few years or so a generator has now become a necessity. I'm installing a transfer switch so I can plug this unit directly into the house.

I have owned quite a few generators in my life some good and some not so good and with that said, this is without a doubt the best I have ever purchased and that includes some that were way more expensive. This has features that several of the higher priced models did not have and this is no lightweight. This model is HEAVY but because of the way it is built it is fairly easy to move with the built in handle. I would buy another of these without a 2nd thought and I just may for my garage....Great unit Westinghouse!

Have lived on the Southeast coast all my life and storms are becoming more and more frequent. Tired of losing contents of freezer. Did review search and I know Westinghouse builds a good product. The WGEN 7500 has the power and features that I need,plus the price was less than lower powered units of other manufactures.The quietness was great compared to my other neighbors. Running time is more efficient per gal.used than any other I saw. The tank is even sloped to allow for all the fuel to be run out. This unit is balanced perfectly, I'm 75 yrs. old and can wheel it around with ease, Thanks Westinghouse.

great features but user manual needs updating

please update battery connection instructions on page 11 for assembly. They are outdated and just require connecting 2 plugs. Page 14 for the control panel diagram needs has items 8 and 9 incorrect. Item 8 is to the right of item 9 on the actual control panel. I could go on but someone has down a poor job of updating the documentation.

I have not had the chance to use it yet. My review has more to do with the company, hence the 4 stars. When getting the unit ready for use the instructions were not exactly clear to my electrician so we called tech support to be told someone would call us back in 24 to 48 hours, Really! my electrician will not wait around for 24/48 hours. To add salt to the wound they never called me back. Next they included a card with my documents that said "rate our product and we will ship you a free generator cover. Wrong again, " sorry, that offers off the table". I just hope when i need to use the generator it preforms better than the company does.
