I just recently purchased a Westinghouse WGen5300sc and have found that it is simple to use and easily moved around from my shed to my hook up wired to my house. It has a pully type pull across the front to move the cart, which I like better than the two handles, one on each side of generator front. Makes it seems weightless to pull. Love the electric start. Started it up again today in very cold temperaturess and it started up after two attempts with the electric start. My son has one like this one also, but with no electric start and has really liked his. He is looking to get an electric start also, maybe he will go with this model again. The only complaint I have is the pull start, which would be true on all the generators, from what I gather anyway.
I bought this about a month ago to be my primary power source dur power outages. My previous generator is a pull start and stand out in the cold pulling and pulling and pulling has just gotten old. Completing the generator build was quite simple and kudos for the funnel that screws into the oil fill, however, if it were a couple of inches longer over pours could be eliminated. Thee reason for the lose of one star is because the quick connect wiring is backward from what is needed for a battery tender connect, necessitating the need to install a seperate quick connect for that purpose. I turned off all the power to my house and then connected the generator, running the house on generator power for about 45 minutes with no issues. The true test will be when I'm hooking it up in an ice sstorm.
I bought this generator to get me thru winter power outages. The unit started right up with the electric start and pull start. I gave it a test run for an hour or so, very smooth and quiet operation. Powerful little unit in a nice compact design.
