This generator performed as expected. The product arrived in good shape. There was some minor scuffing on the bottom of the frame which would impact rust resistance for unfavorable environments but not an issue for me. It came with a wheel kit that wasn't too difficult to put on. It just needed to be propped up on something to get the wheels on. once that was done the cushioned feet were easy to install by just tipping the unit up using the wheels as pivot points. Oil and an oil addition funnel with a tube came with the unit. Adding oil was simple but does require the funnel and tube since the addition point is recessed somewhat under the frame. This could be improved but not a huge thing. There is an oil drain plug and it appears to be in a fairly good location. I haven't done an oil change yet to identify an issues but don't expect any. Battery connection and engine preparation to start were all simple and normal. The manual has instructions on how to convert the generator from a grounded neutral to floating as needed. Engine started easily using electric start. Pull start was not actually performed but based on quickness of start with starter and pull resistance, I expect no issues. Upon starting a puff of oil smoke came out indicating the cylinder was lubed with oil for storage and shipment. Noise level is loud but comparable with other generators of this type and size. Generator was connected to house using the 240 V outlet and assumed load as expected. 240 volt load was applied and worked fine. If the fuel is shut off the generator dies suddenly once all the fuel in the carburetor is used but when the fuel tank is low it runs erratically. This detail was not mentioned in troubleshooting in the manual. Not an issue unless someone in a power outage and less familiar with engines experiences RPM pulsations and goes to the troubleshooting section. Everything performed as expected.

Just bought this and was glad I got this one,a little over 100lbs.First generator I can lift.great value with electric start and great runtime .It had a issue from transport, that Westinghouse saw to the first day out of box. Hope i never use it ,but know that won't be the case in Fl.

Beyond excellent

Received my 5300s this morning and put the wheels and platforms on. Easy, peasy. Filled with (included) oil and connected the battery. Put some gas in the tank, checked that the circuit breakers were closed, switched the fuel valve to on, set the choke to on and pushed the start button. INSTANT START.
Ran it for an hour for the required breakin period, pushed the off button and shut off the fuel valve. What could be simpler? But simplicity aside, I have to tell you—I have owned six different generators. The Westinghouse 5300s is (hands down) the best I have ever seen. Everything—and I do mean EVERYTHING—is top quality, including little things such as waterproof, paper for EVERY piece of paper that came with the generator. The instructions are clear, concise, and absolutely outstanding. In addition, it's 2/3 smaller (but more powerful), and lighter, than my last generator. I am beyond impressed with this product. Hats off to Westinghouse.
In an hour I'm going to start it up again and hook up some equipment to it. I am 100% confident it will do the job. If you need a generator...for ANY reason...I cannot imagine a better one than a Westinghouse.

Easy to use

Although the product arrived looking as if it had been opened and a screw was just sitting on the top, underneath the product looked clean and unused. The oil funnel extender could be a little longer to avoid spills, but once you manage to get the wheels on, it is easy to move, start, and use.
