we bought 2 of these, one for us and one for my parents. Although we have just fired up to test units, both started with ease and both was easy to assemble with no problems. this review is based on setup and initial test of machine

Great Generator!

I bought this generator a while back as part of a project to wire my house for electricity in the event of a power outage. I am pleased to say that (with the help of my electrician friend) this generator will allow me to power my entire house, including refrigerator, ductless air conditioner, furnace, and lighting. It has plenty of power and a high capacity gas tank so run time between refueling is a good number of hours. I am quite sure I won't be left in the dark in the event of an outage. It is quite well constructed should be useful for many years.

Great generator

Found this generator to be the best bang-for-the-buck for our needs. Comes with everything you need to get started - wheel kit, tools, oil etc. dGot this unboxed, wheels installed and oil/gas added in about 15-20 minutes. Electric start worked right away. Ran the generator for a while with no load to break in the engine. Also ran a test with this connected to my breaker panel. Ran my boiler, lights, internet, TV, refrigerator and a small microwave and didn't notice the engine struggling at all. Unit is quieter than I expected. Every few weeks I run the engine on the generator to charge up the battery. We haven't lost power since purchasing this but, after the testing we did, I'm confident it will keep our house running when needed. The first unit I ordered did come damaged but the retailer took care of this immediately. I almost knocked off a star on the review since the packaging doesn't seem to provide adequate protection on some sides. However, my second unit arrived in perfect condition.

I bought this last month and am happy with the ease of use and features. I did observe the alternator cover was dented in at the bottom after unloading the generator. Not sure if this will affect the performance.
