Light weight easy to use.

I purchased this generator last month and love it. I am a 65-year-old female and was worried I wouldn't be able to move this where I need to or get it started with the pull start. Well, I can move it and start it with no problems! We had a power outage a few days ago and it worked great. Thanks, Westinghouse.

Great features and great value

After a recent power outage that cost me some items from the refrigerator I decided it was time to invest in a generator. After asking friends and co-workers about features to look for and reading reviews on brands and generator types I decided to go with Westinghouse. I felt the WGen5300v was the best value for my needs and budget. It came with a wheel kit, a nearly 5 gal. (4.7) gas tank, easy to follow instructions and is easy to start. I have not needed it for an emergency yet but have no doubts it will provide more than enough power. An added bonus was that the engine (for its size) was not extremely loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quiet and powers my equipment

I purchased this on-line on Monday and it delivered on Friday. Box protected it very well with no damage during shipping.
Added oil and fuel started on the second pull and run smoothly during the break in period.

Great features and easy to read control panels

This generator is easy to move around with sturdy wheels. It can easily be moved from a basement to outside in a couple of minutes, if there is a power outage. This product has many excellent features that will surely keep your mind at ease and will allow you to stay in the comfort of your home when and if the need be.

A Well Reviewed Generator For A Reasonable Price

This is our family's first generator. We chose this model, after reading many customer reviews, from various sources, with the expectation that it has the capability to run several of our home's devices - basic power needs, such as; sump pump, refrigerator and furnace motor, plus some lighting, in case the power goes out, again. It's new, and I've only started and ran it 3 times, so far, but it pull-starts easy and runs very smooth. It's not real quiet, but I've read most non-inverter generators make some non-abrasive sound (listenable on YouTube), maybe comparable to an old lawn mower with a worn muffler baffle.
The layout of the operational components (choke/fuel valve/on & off switch,etc.), plus the usage meter and gas gauge are excellent and feel like decent quality parts. As commented on by others, the oil drain plug location would be nice an inch further away from the nearby frame cross member, but an angled piece of cardboard or funnel while draining prevents mess. It's got some weight to it, an avg. two person lifter, but the bearing wheels make solo pulling around easy. The overall construction, surface finishes, and general solidness gives us the impression that we got an excellent value for a generator. The most important test is yet to come, as during the next power outage, when we will need it most. Hopefully, it'll prove it's real worth then.
