Easy Setup, Best Value

Given all the weather related power outages around us, lately, we decided to invest in a more reliable generator. The previous generator would fail to start in Michigan winters. This 5300 seemed to have the best features for the money. The setup was straight forward and easy to follow. I was very pleased that it started on the FIRST pull. And it runs relatively quiet, at least to me!

Has everything we wanted!

After our deadly power outage last winter, we are determined to be ready next time. We researched the best bang for the buck, most reliable and easy to use- and with enough power to run heaters and fridge. The Westinghouse WGen5300V checked all the boxes! We just got it and it is a good size with ample outlets!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good, minus a couple issues out of the box

Seems like a good generator minus 2 issues right out of the box. The first was that the oil fill cap wasn't tightened after the oil was drained at the factory, so the residual oil leaked out all over the generator and box, which required a fair amount of clean up. Secondly, one of the retaining clips for the air filter housing was broken, also right out of the box. WH was very good though about sending out a replacement part, so kudos to them for having good service. Aside from that, seems like a solid unit and i'm hoping for years of service.

Everything I was looking for!

I bought this generator for when we go camping and to power the essentials in the house when we lose power. This benefits the bill perfectly. The never flat wheels with bearings and the handle make it so much easier to tote around compayto my old generator.

After the sever winter storm a dependable power source was needed…The Wgen5300V provides a simple and dependable source of power…I have used it several times to power tools in a backyard storage/workshop.
