I bought this the first of January for a backup power source. I have not had to fire it up because we have not lost power to our home.

Waiting to get it running

The generator started OK the first day. It started up again when I refueled. But after the first day (2 hours running time) I haven't been able to start it. I would have waited until I got a new spark plug (or whatever else needs to be fixed) before writing a review, but they wanted a review as part of registering the warranty.

Just put together and started it up on propane and ran two times to warm up and seat the rings/breaking some. The only negative I have is the oil fill cap/dipstick. Plastic that doesn’t start and thread great. Just cheap and hard to get to and screw back on. Either it vibrated loose or I didn’t get it on well the first time I ran it. That is minor and it seems to be a good product for the money.

Finished the 5-hour break-in period W/O any problems! Connected it to my Transfer switch with 6 circuits and did some testing. I'm running this puppy on my fridge, oil burner and indirect HW heater, 65" and 50" TV's, Bascially every light fixture and a ceiling fan in my house. Garage door opener, 2 PC's both with 24" LCD monitors and various other low wattage devices plugged in. I'm using the 120/240 Volt AC, 30 Amp NEMA L14-30R Twist Lock Receptacle. There was hardly any draw on the generator much to my surprise :) with the load balanced almost perfectly on the transfer switch. I was going to buy the smaller WGen3600 Generator but figured it wasn't enough. Now I wish I purchased the 10 circuit transfer switch to add at least one of my A/C units.
Overall this is an excellent product and highly recommended it.
I'll post another review when we have our 1st power loss and can test it for a longer period of time.

After my champion generator failed to produce power a flawed stator. I researched and came up with my westinghouse 5300. Reviews made this purchase a no brainer 4's and 5's across the board. Actually looking forward to my next power outage so I can run this thru it's paces. I'm happy.
