Just received the item yesterday, try remote and push button to start and stop, no problem.Didn't try recoil start yet, looks nice generator

So easy to start!

I have shoulder issues for now and knew I would probably not be able to pull start a generator. After researching various brands, my wife and I decided on this Westinghouse electric start 5300c. We are very pleased with how simple it was to get it up and going! With hurricane season just around the corner, we feel better knowing we will have back-up power if ever needed. Thank you, Westinghouse!!

Easy to set up, started right up and runs fairly quiet. Have not really had opportunty to test it as it's meant for backup power for when the hurricanes/storms come through. Much more power than my last one at a better price.

I purchased this due to the large number of power outages we have in our area. The first time I needed it, it powered right up and I was able to run everything I needed.

My generator arrived undamaged and on time. Unpacking and assembly was easy and straight forward. Instructions were easy to follow. The generator started easily and works as advertised. Overall constructions seems solid and very user friendly.
