First Generator

I had been researching a generator for our new RV and believe we made the right choice on the Westinghouse IGEN4500DF. Once I took it out of the box and read the instructions I finished setting it up. Only downfall I had from instructions was for me to fill entire bottle of oil into the engine. I didn't use it all but still it was leaking out. Cleaned up the excess and closed the drain plug. Hooked up the Propane and put enough gas in to start.
Okay, now I ready to start. It took a couple of tries and review of instructions but it started up. Then I switched over to Propane and you can here it convert. Let it run for a little bit and switched back to gas seamlessly. Remote worked like a charm.
I can't wait to take it out camping and enjoy my new Westinghouse I GEN4500DF.

Compact Unit, Easy setup and startup procedures, had no problem starting my 15000 BTU (RV) A/C using Propane, easy to use features/manual, liked the wheels and handles for moving & loading on my Truck .
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like it. Solid build, started right away even on almost empty LP tank - gotta love that autostart feature! Handled all my power hungry test devices without problem. It's a quiet and good looking machine. I also like the manual! This is something you don't see these days anymore - it has everything! Detailed maintenance procedures, descriptions, exploded view and even electrical schematic! If you are stuck without power and internet this manual may actually save your day! They even included oil and tools needed for maintenance.
Main feature for me is that it's a solid 30amp inverter which works on LP and gas. I'll use it mostly with LP, but having gas as an option is must have in my opinion.

Great feature set for the price

I really like that this unit will run on gas and propane. It's also powerful enough to power several items if it's put into action with a power shut-off that's likely going to be a more frequent occurance in California.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Won't start

I bought this item 6 months ago. We got out camper two months after that and tested everything out. The electric and remote start are a joke. They wouldn't work reliably. We did get it going and ran for a little while to test it's ability to handle our A/C unit. A couple months later I took it out to camp and NOTHING. It won't start. We went through all of the manual testing every possible option as well as watching YouTube Videos and reading service bulletins from Westinghouse and cannot get the product running. I am very disappointed with this purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy operation!

This is a nice unit. Easy to set up and operate. The dual fuel costs more than single fuel, but it is nice to have. Runs well on propane. The unit makes less noise than most generators. Less noise than gasoline lawnmowers and a bit more noise than a lawn aerator. Our next door neighbor said they could not hear it and we could barely hear it inside our house.
I would recommend this to a friend!
