great generator,love the remote start

bought this generator to run my whole house and it does a great job on gas or propane highly recommend it!

Exactly As Advertised

Got my iGen4500 this week. Easy setup. I was a little worried because I had read some bad reviews. I suppose with any product, there can be a few isolated problems. Mine arrived undamaged with no rust in the fuel tank. Hooked up the battery, put in oil and it started right up. Measured the decibels with my smartphone app and it was 3 decibels quieter than my Ryobi at the same distance. It has a superior sound deadening foam inside that is 4x or more as thick as that in my Ryobi generator. Love the readouts. The remote key fob was already initialized and worked.

Nice Genny with cool features

I just purchased iGen4500. Shipped quick from authorized retailer. Nicely layed out control panel and weather resistant covers.
A bit louder than I assumed. I think that is my lack of knowledge on db rating for generators. I measured this at 52db at 20ft on Eco Mode on light load. I then turned on a/c, all interior and exterior lights, radio and refrigerator and ran microwave the generator ran at 64db at 20 feet away.
I haven't put it through use yet so, I can't accurately rate its performance but out of the box and first start I was very happy with my purchase.

attached wheels and feet, added oil. Directions very clear. started right up. Battery charged and key fob remote start all worked as advertised. Feel much better having this backup given the severe weather seems to come more and more frequently these days!

The model number is igen4500 not igen4500DF. Generator runs quiet and has all the appropriate outlets. Bonus item is supposed to be a 15 foot power strip.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I waited to right the review until I have been able to try it out. While I haven’t been camping, I believe lack of use isn’t good, so I do monthly run everything in my RV. Over the last three month I have used the generator to operate and warm up my RV. I bought it for all of it’s features. Here is a list of things that I think would be helpful for those thinking about buying one.
- Directions were easy to follow.
- It is simple to change from gas to propane.
- Instructions say start without a load, but it has a remote start. Still confused about this.
- When cold I have had to push the start twice for it to start, but it starts with no problem with the electric start.
- I tried to start it with the pull start. Only tried it a couple times and it didn’t start. I think it would work but not a one or two pull cold start. I think this would tie back to how lone it takes the electric start to work.
- The box it came in wasn’t sturdy. There wasn’t any damage to the unit but the box was not reusable. I believe these boxes were designed for transport by pallet not single shipment, something they should look at redesigning.
- It is about 100lbs something to consider.
- If you leave gas in it run it once a month for a least ½ hour.
- It was able to run my AC and microware at the same time.
- For RV’ers I have discovered that the “hot” water heater uses a lot of power, might consider using it propane mode
While it’s the first generator I have owned, it has met all my expectations and would purchase it again.
