The One that Works Was Great!

I originally bought 2 of these generators, but one of them didn't work and had to be returned for a replacement. Better still was the somewhat belligerent woman I spoke with on the phone when I called. She seemed to be excited to pull a power play on correcting me. Not the person you'd expect when you call for Customer Support.

Nice quality

Just unpackaged and set it up. Started on the first push of the button. Was provided all the necessary tools and equipment to get the generator up and running. Very well thought out and start up and operation. The forward to using this for camping.

Just purchased and broke this inverter in. It switches between gas and propane without shutting down which is very nice. Ultra quiet and runs smooth.
Unit arrived with a broken access panel. The customer service rep I spoke to was very polite and made getting a replacement sent out a non-issue. Excellent customer service and am pleased with my order just for that.

Ran great on initial test

I purchased this generator for backup home power in the event of power failure. The iGen 4500DF was easy to set up except for a couple of missteps on my part. I over filled the oil reservoir. This was probably due to some residual oil in the engine from the factory test. I added most of the .63qt bottle. The reservoir is supposed hold .6 qt. it overflowed when I removed the funnel. The excess leaked out of the bottom of the case for a short time. On start up I added about a quart of gasoline to the tank. This apparently was not enough to get it running. It would almost turn over from time to time. It showed low fuel on the digital display. So I added some more fuel and that solved the problem. The start up with propane was perfect. It ran a little rough for a few minutes but then smoothed out. I ran it with several small loads plugged in for about a half and hour. It appeared to function properly. I experimented with switching back and forth from gas to propane and that went well. I am pleased with the generator so far.

Excellent generator

This is a great generator with awesome features. Although the generator I have zero complaints about, I was not happy with the buying experience up front. When I initially setup the generator I ran into two problems. First the generator was not idling correctly. It was due to what I found out is a common issue with these generators. From the factory there are times when the plug for the automated choke is not plugged in. I have to take the panels off the generator and connect the plug to resolve this issue. The second problem I ran into was with the remote start. I tried several times to connect the remote following the instructions in the owners manual but could not get it to work. After working with customer service they sent me out a replacement part for the module that controls the remote start, which resolved the issue. My 3 star review is to reflect the fact that I have to do several things to get the generator running as it was supposed to be from the factory.

Been looking for dual fuel generator that is quiet. So far extremely please although having difficulty with generator cold starting with propane. Seems to require a start up with gas then ok to switch to propane once warm.

Did my first oil change at 3 hrs and again at 8 hrs. I was shocked at how much metal was in the first oil change. There were large shavings, and a ton of glitter. Still glitter in the second. I will change it again at 15hrs. Manual does not clearly state break-in time, but says change oil after first 25hrs and do not exceed 50% load during break-in. Also the batteries for the remote came dead and the regulator came with rusted screws and corroded aluminum.
After replacing the batteries in the remote, its a great feature to have. I have not put any gasoline in mine yet and plan on using propane exclusively. I live at 4000ft and use this at altitudes slightly higher. A high altitude carb kit is required for altitudes above 5000ft (its just a jet kit). Not sure if this applies to propane operation.
