I brought this unit home today. The instructions were well written and easy to understand. I was surprised that the recommended gasoline was 87 octane with 10% ethanol. After hooking up the battery, adding oil and fuel, I pushed the start switch and the unit took right off. Very quiet. When I added the included .6 liter container of oil to the .6 liter capacity crankcase of the unit on my level shop floor and added the plug, I had oil running out on the floor. One of the capacities must be wrong. In order to see the serial number I had to lay with my head on the floor with a flashlight. Why put it on the bottom?

Just bought it yesterday. Looks freaking awesome, I did a lot of research prior to buying this. I’m about to live in a 5th wheel full time and wanted something light, quite, and duel fuel. Really wish I could have gotten a 50 amp but too heavy and expensive. This will be able to run anything in the 5th wheel at anytime just not everything at once obviously. Really only going to use it for emergencies. Can’t wait to try it out!!!

It has everything I wanted in a generator

I bought this generator due to it being rich with features. It is quiet, it has ample power for my use, dual fuel capability, remote start, three-ways to easily start it, a display panel with stats, lightweight and a three year limited warranty.
I have owned one of the contractor generators in the past and they are so noisy you can't have a conversation anywhere within 25 or 30 yards of it. The Westinghouse iGen 4500 inverter generator is so quiet I can stand right next to it and converse without having to raise my voice. It is quieter than a car engine running.
I lose power, on average, a couple of times a week for two or more hours and a couple of winters ago I lost it for 4 days straight in freezing weather. It's not fun sitting around the house without even having a radio, much less a television or even charging a phone and only a flashlight for light. Now I can power some electronics and lights.
At times I am not available to crank up a generator but with the iGen, my wife can flip the ON switch and remote start the generator without a problem. It even has an automatic choke built into the unit. It starts on the first try every time I have used it.
Dual fuel was a big plus for me. Instead of having limited capability and having multiple gas cans sitting around, I can use my 250 gallon propane tank that is located just a few yards from my install location. Propane is also a much cleaner burning fuel and therefore it will not gum-up the carburetor like gasoline.
I like being able to monitor my power usage and the led display panel shows power output, voltage and running time. For those that use gasoline, there are additional readouts that shows your fuel level in addition to remaining run time.
The warranty being three years is probably as good as it gets.
I spent a lot of time trying to find a generator that had all the features that I wanted. I could not ask for a better generator and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

This is a great generator, even if Westinghouse likes to call it "inverter' in its good included manual. All other previous comments I agree with, So 4 Stars why ? Well here is the INFO needed. The 30 amp output is NOT A 3 PRONG TWIST LOCK, as nearly all 'generators' come with, but is a TT 30r outlet, 30 amp travel trailer. Yeah it's in the manual. However all past generators, for me, have had a 3 prong twist lock (L5 30p) outlet. SO you need and adaptor TT 30r to L5 30p twist lock. Now all your cords will plug right in for power. This is also really meant to be set out all alone with a long card. As I have yet to figure how to add a tail pipe to the exhaust system from my motorhome's extended bumper mounting. It is nearly 200 pounds lighter then the 5000watt Onan it replaces. : ) And may I ask Who the Heel has the employee try to hide the Serial number to where you need lay down or have helper tip the thing near on end ? But yes I certainly recommend this Inverter : )

I haven't used it much but just tested it. So far it performs within reason, running a heat gun and a hair dryer. I'll give it a better overview when I get it out to the tiny house for a weekend. It should run the air conditioner and all lights.
