We had an ice storm this winter and the power was out for a week. We were looking for a mid size generator that had both gas and propane options. The generator is quiet for its size.

Very Quiet and Well Built

This is an awesome generator and a proven well built unit. Upon receiving, I pulled access panels to inspect the factory quality control. To my surprise I found many nice added features I didn’t expect. For example is the rubber plug to allow oil to be drained easily. Also to carburetor has a drain tube attached for easily draining carb and fuel tank when needed for storage. The included oil will fill the engine, leaving you an ounce or so for adding if needed during break in. Use the provided oil during break in, then you can stay with the mineral oil or go to synthetic.
Upon inspection, the interior bolts were properly tightened. All wiring was routed, strapped and protected. Taking an interior look at the build revealed plenty of noise insulation, a blower system on the end of the crankshaft provides great air flow to the exhaust/muffler area for cooling and forcing heat out of the unit and drawing cooling air into the interior. Easy access to the air cleaner, spark plug, carburetor, fuel drain, valve cover and fuel filter is accomplished by removing right access cover. The included battery had 12.7 volts before charging to freshen the battery and the quick disconnect battery harness is a very nice extra. The engine is nicely rubber mounted and purred quietly, smoothly and especially on the echo mode which allows the engine to slow substantially when a large load is not needed, which extends efficiency.
The only thing I found inspecting the unit was the engine valve cover breather hose was not pushed completely onto the intake manifold box and had no clamp. When removing panels, ensure you have removed all anchor bolts and note some are hidden under rubber weather plugs. Exterior panels pop off easily, when all anchor bolts removed. Picture attached reflect some of the items described in this review.
The price of this I-gen 5000DF is very competitive for a generator of this quality and I’m very pleased initially. After some use camping I may update my findings.

Used it only a couple times since purchasing a bit over a week ago. So far very impressed…. Very quiet and super easy to use. The remote start is definitely a bonus.

It's adding up to everything promised. I was also surprised by how easily it can be move around with the extension handle, something my wife definitely needs. That said, the manual could use some more detail. E.G. It refers to the choke, but doesn't show where it is. The same for the fuel valve.
