Review of REPLACEMENT generator

My original iGen2500 developed quite a few small problems during the first 8 hours or so. I got to the point of "enough is enough". The seller arranged a prompt exchange. The replacement unit has only one very small issue, after completing 15 hours of break-in. The service cover, on the side, vibrates and makes a buzzing noise. I had some adhesive backed foam weatherstip material, and cut a couple small pieces to place between the service cover and the plastic case (generator "body"). Problem solved. When under a big load, it is not quiet. But it is less obnoxious than my big open frame generator. The digital display is a big plus. Starts easily with 1 or 2 pulls, even with my arthritic shoulder. If it gives good, reliable service over the long run, I would give it 5 stars.

Great price started right up

Added oil and fuel. Turned the switch to choke start, pulled the recoil starter 3 times. Started right up. Moved the switch to run. After about 15 seconds ideal smoothed out. Proceeded with break in process by using the generator to run a small heater, which used 1,100 watts or 1/2 load for the generator. Ran for about an hour. WIll continue with the break in process. I'm very please with this little quite generator. Well made and quite.

Just right for my needs

I bought this to power critical loads at my house in case of an extended power outage. After the initial break-in procedures I backfed the generator power into my house breaker panel and selectively closed breakers to power up the essential loads. I was able to supply power to the furnace, refrigerator, freezer, sump pump, garage door opener, and living area lights and outlets simultaneously. It looks like to run the Microwave I will have to make sure some of the bigger loads, like the refrigerator and freezer are not running at the same time.
The power is 'clean' enough that the sensitive electronic components of the furnace controls, the television, and the computer modem worked perfectly.
The generator starts easy and runs smoothly. It has just the right power output capability to do what I need. The smaller 2200 unit was just a little underpowered and a larger unit was overkill for me.
The digital display is a feature I really like. It is nice to know the actual voltage and watt output. I suppose in an extended period of use the remaining run time and fuel level will also be helpful. Total run time will be useful for keeping a good maintenance schedule.
The sound level is low enough that it is barely noticeable from inside the house. The neighbors may not even know it is running. I tried to check decibel levels but I am not sure how much was generator noise and how much was normal ambient noise. It seems that with birds, wind, traffic, etc. I have about 60 decibels of constant sound outside. With the generator running the decibel level increased to 85-90 decibels.
I don't have any long term experience with this unit yet but so far it seems like it is just what i hoped for emergency use.

Finally purchased this inverter after comparing with other brands and am very happy with the value received for the money I paid for it. It's user friendly and the accompanying manual explains everything from initial start up to a quick view assessment of power output vs load. Very happy with this generator/inverter.
