Started up on the 1st pull

After filling up the oil reservoir with the oil that was included with the generator, and filling up the gas reservoir about halfway, the unit fired up on the 1st pull. I ran it for about 5 minutes then shut it off. I'll run it for 30 minutes in the next day or two, to check out the connections for the 2 - USB ports and the 2 100v outlets.
I live in south Los Angeles County and bought the generator to power my refrigerator, router, laptop and charge up the mobile phones during an emergency power outage. Because CA is run by brain-dead liberals, they have not beefed up our power grid over the decades, and since they are insisting on using electric vehicles, the power grid cannot handle the late afternoon, early evening power grid needs. Plus, if there's an earthquake, EMP attack, or another such power-ending event, I can keep the fridge/freezer running for a few days.

Bought this a month ago. Arrived with most of the screws loose/out. Nothing a screw driver won't fix. Had to loosed gas cap to start first few times. Nice unit.

Efficiency Mode will not operate AC

The iGen 2500 was purchase two months ago. My RV is equipped with a 15000 BTU air conditioner with soft start that will draw 13-14 amps on compressor start up.
With the iGen 2500 set on efficiency mode it will only operate the air conditioner fan. When the compressor starts, the iGen2500 disconnects the load, and then must be shut down to be reset. The manual states on page 16 under Using Efficiency Mode, "Efficiency mode should be used only after the inverter has been warmed up to operating temperature." And then states, "As a load is applied, the inverter will sense the load and engine RPM will increase according to the load applied. The second statement is not true.
If the iGen 2500 will only operate a air conditioner at maximum power and speed, then it has an "efficiency mode" that is useless.

I live in Florida and needed a backup for my refrigerator and freezer. We have lost power when hurricanes pass through. I have not used the IGen2500 yet but hope it works for my needs if I lose power.
