Nice size

Just got this very nice looking generator smaller size and easy for moving only 48 lbs , the side part is very difficult to get off tho screws dont seem to come out not happy with that part of it so far .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Received the Westinghouse iGen 2500 today (27 Oct). I added oil and fresh 89 octang non- ethanol fuel. Started immediatly and ran smoth. Sound level with no laod at 25' was great! I tested it with the following loads: LG 12k window a/c unit (10A) and it pulled less than 25% power from th igen 2500. Next i ran an electric chainsaw (14A) and pulled 50% power. Finally, i tried a 15k electric heater and pulled 50% load. All these ran for less than 1 minute. Vety Impressive !!!

Great at first, problems after minimal use

I’ll just be honest this is not a very good unit I’d look elsewhere. It worked great the first few times and now not so much. We only use it power outages so it’s basically brand new less than 75 hours of use. Problems are it shuts off for no reason under light load. It will run fine for two hours then engine will just rev up and down for no reason, we didn’t unplug or plug anything in. Fudging with the gas cap seems to help, but you shouldn’t have to do that. Leaving it not fully threaded in and clicked in seems to help. All we do is run fan for our gas stove fireplace, and fridge, and that’s about it. I’m also the kind of guy who follows the manufacturer book as close as I can.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this inverter generator as an emergency electric source of power in case of a power outage, to power my homes refrigerator and freezer. So far it met all my expectations.

Great features

This is my second iGen2500 generator. I plan to run them parallel to provide the necessary power. I have an iGen4500 but it is too heavy to lift into the back of my truck. I can easily pick this one up and load it.

Check Spark Plug

Upon first start up and break in period the generator seemed to run ok, but as soon as and electrical load of more than 200 watts was plugged in, the greater would would have a significant surge and die. Thought it was a fuel system problem, read another reviewer indicating both of his new units had fouled spark plugs from factory, so I checked mine. The plug was not fouled, but cracked/broken. All good once a new spark plug inserted.
