I normally stock on gasoline at the start of hurricane season and use the gas in the winter. Dual fuel let's me keep a year-round supply of propane on standby. Electric start is nice, especially if you use it often. I've had some trouble starting it but chalked it up to a weak battery. Worked ok with the pull cord.
When in doubt search for the best and my WGen3600DF came out on top everywhere. So now I'm learning about wire gauge and that propane produces slightly less Watts than gasoline. Yesterday was the real test after filling the tank with "unleaded", flipped a couple of buttons, and YES ! it started right up and ran fine during this break-in period. I'm here in Florida where hurricanes pop up any time from June to Sept. ... so plan ahead and be ready cause for certain your gonna end up in the dark for a few days and/or paying a big motel bill... so pay it now or pay it later - It's up to you.
I really haven't used it yet, only to put ti together and start it up. But I don't like the design for putting the wheel on the side of the instrument panel. I had mounted the wheel and then had to take it off again in order to put the battery in. Plus it is really very tight fit to put the pin in that holds that wheel in place. I will be using this generator at our cabin in Northern Minn and will have to remove the battery every fall to keep it from freezing over the winter when the cabin is not in use. Which means the wheel has to come off every time I need to take out the battery. Not really a big problem but their must have been a better way to design that. Also I was disappointed to find that I had to actually shut the power off at the machine when I wasn't going to use it for several hours or overnight to keep from running down the battery. On the generator I had before if the machine was shut down everything was off and there was no problem with the battery being drained. Which was the main reason I wanted a remote start.
We just bought a travel trailer and are getting ready to do some traveling across the U.S. and we do know we will not be able to have an electrical hook up all the time. This is why we bought this generator which runs on both gas and L.P.
The Generator arrived just as planned in only a few days. The package and generator were in great shape. Assembly was beyond easy and Westinghouse is sending me the high altitude carb kit since i am above 6,000ft. Customer service so far has been superb. I have resurched gens. for a long time for my camper and after much research it always came back to the WGen 3600DF. Awesome machine. A no brained decision.
