Issues Right Out Of The Box

I'll start with the good. The fit and finish on this thing is pretty nice. The little fold up handle and wheels are super nice too when moving it around.
Now for the bad. The eco button or throttle control does not seem to work properly. It fires up and runs, however it always runs at a pretty high throttle. The eco button doesn't drop the throttle down to idle as it should. When I put a load on it revs even higher, and when I take the load off it stays up at the higher throttle. When it is running at the higher throttle it pops and sputters. My dad bought the same generator and we compared them. His eco button causes the idle speed to drop way down. When he puts a load on it, it revs up, and when the load is taken off it revs back down to idle. In addition, his does not pop and sputter when a load is on it. I contacted customer support a few weeks ago and they issued a claim number but I have heard nothing else from them.
Otherwise, if it were running properly, I would say this is a pretty nice generator. As I mentioned above, the fit and finish is good, the handle is a nice touch, and it is relatively quiet for 3700 running watts.
I will update this review once the problem has been solved.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid, dependable generator

The unit started right up and is performing as advertised. We plan to use it as an alternate power source during blackouts and outages, and we're glad to have it at the ready for us.

parallel operation

I now have two of these units along with Westinghouse's cord to run them in parallel operation. Excellent performance with tons of power for everything inside of the camper and outside as well; fans, tv etc. Very efficient on fuel as well.

Quality quiet product

After many years of deliberation about buying a generator, I finally buckled down did my homework and have been completely satisfied with my purchase of the igen4500 DF. Very quiet and reliable, didn't expect the added bonus of remote start! Brilliant. I have a friend who bought the same model. Peace of mind knowing I can run the sump pump and keep fridge going if we lose power.

Easy to unpack. Instructions are great. Quiet. Recommend making oil fill easier. Oil drips into compartment when disconnecting funnel.

Great generator!

Great package featuring quiet operation, remote start, and the advantages of an inverter generator. Started right off the bat after adding oil and gasoline. With the 2021 hurricane season underway, I’m confident that I have a reliable source of emergency power should the need arise.
The only caution I’d offer for new buyers is to take care filling the oil. The provided funnel was a great help, but the horizontal fill tube and possibly a little oil in the crankcase resulted in an overflow when the oil (also provided) was added. Luckily, I’d put a few pieces of paper towel under the end of the fill tube and this captured about a tablespoon of oil that leaked out when the funnel was removed and otherwise would hav ended up in the bottom of the generator’s housing.
Again, overall a great package!

Perfect for the camper

This was better than what I was expecting. I followed the instructions for the setup. The instructions are very easy to follow.
I pulled the cord before fueling to ensure the oil was circulated before the initial start.
I connected propane Hit the remote start button and we have power!
This unit is quiet and small enough for this 55-year-old to move around.
I will keep my bigger heavier generators for home emergencies.
I do recommend this unit.
