What this a few weeks ago to support power outages that have become more frequent. And I'm so glad I did more than enough power to take care of refrigerators. And some ceiling fans

So far, so good

Today is the first time using my new generator, getting it prepped for our next trip.
First the bad:
1. My generator came with a broken battery hold-down strap…brand new out of the box. Not a major issue, but also not perfect, which is why the 4-star rating.

2. There is a misalignment of the propane inlet with the front panel. 100% serviceable, but not perfect. Again, just not perfect.
Good:
Everything else seems great. Unpacking was fine, seems well built and put together. The included oil and tools made initial set up easy. The remote start is nice and the generator is nice and quiet!

All in all, I’m VERY happy with this purchase and will work on getting a new battery hold-down. I’ll also need an altitude kit, as I’ll be running this above 5,000’-6,000’ most of the time.

Unpacked and Tested

Purchased iGen5000DFcv to run RV when boondocking. Have only had a chance to unpack and test unit. Generator is well put together. Unit setup easily. Tested with unit plugged into RV. Tested by turning loads on and off all the RV's loads on both gas and propane. Generator worked well and handled all the loads without hesitation. Look forward to using unit as we travel with our RV.

Although I had no idea about how to buy a generator, I went out on a limb and bought the 5000 DFC model. We’ve taken it out a couple of times and it works great.
