So happy with this machine! We use it every time we go to the desert in our RV! Having the option for gas and propane is amazing!

I like the simple functions of this model - started on the second pull when I initially started it - I upgraded to this one from a WH2000IXLT to run my RV and so far, it's functioning as expected.

Great!

I bought this when I moved to an area surrounded by trees that always find a way to fall on power lines. I've already had to use it when the power went out for over 8 hours and it was pretty easy to use. Money well spent!

Great Looking Generator

The generator looks absolutely amazing. Once I followed the initial instructions to fill it with the supplied oil and bought some gas for it, it started right up. Super quiet. I could not be happier with my purchase!

I bought this 2 months ago, and has held up really well with the exception of the pull string being fragile. Besides that, everything else is nice!

Confusing User Manual Instructions
on October 11, 2025
Posted by: GF2025
from Upstate N.Y.
Beware of User Manual instructions:
I received my first generator and could not get it to operate properly. It would run on gasoline, but while running on gasoline any attempt to hook up propane hose would result in immediate shut down, and unit would not restart until propane hose was disconnected.
Per instructions (Page 18) in User Manual, "generator can be switched while the engine is running." I filed a complaint with Westinghouse and they were very helpful: suggested faulty oil sensor switch or faulty selector valve, which they sent free of charge. Neither solution solved the problem so Westinghouse agreed to send a FREE replacement generator.
I received my second generator and the same situation occurred; generator running on gasoline, attempt to hook up propane hose, engine quits. Searching through Westinghouse instruction packet, I came across a single folded pamphlet; Quick Start Guide. Opening the pamphlet it had "Starting Procedure" instructions: 6a. "If starting with gasoline: Turn fuel selector switch to gasoline, make sure LPG hose is DISCONNECTED." 6b. "If starting with propane: turn selector switch to propane and OPEN PROPANE TANK VALVE."
With "experimantation", I discovered that the key phrase was OPEN TANK VALVE.
The generator will NOT start with the LPG hose hooked up and tank valve CLOSED.
While running on gasoline, the generator will QUIT with any attempt to hook up LPG hose.
The generator will NOT start with LPG hose attached and tank valve CLOSED.
However: The generator starts and runs PERFECTLY under the following conditions:
1.) Selector switch on gasoline, LPG hose DISCONNECTED.
2.) Selector switch on gasoline, LPG hose attached and tank valve OPEN.
3.) Selector switch on propane, LPG hose attached and tank valve OPEN.
Under conditions 2., & 3.; while generator is running, selector switch can be switched between gasoline and propane without hesitation.
Under condition 1.; while generator is running, selector switch can be turned to propane and gasoline will be SHUT OFF and engine will quit in approximately 3 minutes.
I notified Westinghouse Support of my "discovery" in hopes that they will "clarify/update" the User Manual Instructions.
