The perfect inverter for RV boondocking.

We have been RV’ing for 17 years with about half of the time boondocking. For those that don’t know what ‘boondocking’ is, it’s RV camping off the grid. We have been using our Westinghouse igrn4500df for time when we need to run the AC, (we are in Texas), however, it’s too heavy and bulky for times when the AC is not needed. We purchased this igen2550dfc for the times where the AC is not needed. We are running a bank of golf cart batteries for power and solar panels but there are times when the solar lets us down and the batteries need to be charged. We also have a Starlink generator 3, (camping has changed over the years). The igrn2550dfc fits this spot perfectly. It’s about as loud as a conversation, is fairly light and at 1,900 watts, it can power and charge everything at the same time. The 1 gallon gas tank lasts about 8 hours for our normal load but when running on the propane tank it lasts a week of charging snd internet. I’m picky about breaking in motors so I ran it with different loads, on eco and off and changed the oil after 5 hours running to synthetic 5w-30. This inverter is impressive and I’m recommending everyone how needs up to 1,900 watts power to purchase it.

Nice portable generator

Purchased this to use with our RV trailer. It is quiet and very light to transport as it weighs only 42lbs. I like the dual fuel feature as we will only run this on propane. We can also connect this to our larger IGen 4500 generator also.

Just got it this week. It started right up with both gas & propane. I haven’t need it for an outage yet, but I ran it for 3 hours without any problems.

Had a I gen 2200 for about 3 years before this one that I was very happy with. Very reliable and I like the dual fuel option on this one as well.

My Second Review- I Never Got My Free Cover
on October 11, 2025

I registered and reviewed my generator on October 12, 2024. I runs well and I gave it 5 stars at the time. However, I never got my free cover after waiting almost a year. 1 star for false advertising.
