Small and compact with good power and quiet

Use this in my 38 ft 5th wheel for backup power. Great price and easy to handle. Front panel is great and love the 30 Amp power plug.

Item arrived undamaged. Sturdy build; nothing loose or missing. Westinghouse made a few enhancements which altered the provided instructions content a bit: e.g. There is now a split connection cable connecting the alternator to the battery which simply needs to be connected to bring the battery online -- both battery terminals are already connected (better design).

Looks very nice. Didn't run as I would have hoped. After completing the setup as the manual describes I pulled the cord and it fired immediately. However, after a few seconds it started sputtering and puffing black smoke. Just like a stuck choke would. It then smoothed out and sounded great for a few seconds then right back to rough idle and black smoke. I will call tech support and hope they have a fix. I might have missed it somewhere but maybe there is a manual choke override or something. I am very optimistic that this problem will be resolved and I will have a great generator. It sure is impressive to look at.

Was everything I expected

Was delivered in a very timely manner in perfect condition. Unpacked the generator, added oil, fuel and connected battery according to directions. I then turned on the fuel, pressed the start button and it fired right up. I let it warm up and then plugged a heat gun into it tried it out, it worked flawlessly. Very pleased, just hope I don't need it this Hurricane season in S.W. FL.

I now own two Westinghouse Inverter Generators. I bought the iGen2200 a few months ago and liked it so much I bought the iGen4500 to use at home and with my RV. It is the largest inverter generator I could find and the price was good. The generator is very quiet, extremely easy & convenient to start with the pushbutton or the remote fob, but, there are some things I don't like. The first is that the 30A receptacle is upside down. I had read about it in other reviews, but, didn't grasp the significance. I cannot completely plug in my RV plug because the plastic cover interferes with the plug. It also falls out easily since the weight of the wire is above the plug. The other thing that I don't like is more than just an annoyance. I bought the 4500 (3700 running) watt generator to be able to power the air conditioner in my RV when not connected to shore power. My RV has a 30 Amp connection. When plugged into shore power my AC, refrigerator, coffee pot, ice maker and lights (all LED) are all powered with no issues. When I try to run my AC only with my generator, it frequently trips into overload status. This generator should have no issues running my AC (3,700 Watts/110V = 33.6A). So, it is either defective or the rating is accurate. Maybe it needs a break-in period...? I've only used it on one camping trip so far. (Side note - I had ordered it for a cross-country trip. The original shipping date was well before my departure date, but, repeated delays in shipping dates caused it to arrive at my house the day before I returned from my trip). I could parallel both of my generators, but, the reason I got the 4500 was so that I didn't have to carry two generators, especially when one is as large and heavy as the iGen4500. I would give this a "qualified" recommendation depending on requirements.

I expect to use this Generator during hurricane season when we lose electrical power. Power outages are frequent here and a good Generator will be a big relief . Not losing all your food and not being left in the dark will be great.

Starts but will not run up to full RPM. Undervoltage fault that will not clear. Have gone through troubleshooting guide and multiple attempts at restart.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
