Bought this portable generator for the back of my 26.6 ft Jayco Eagle Travel Trailer to provide power when RV parks are not available. It has been a valuable asset when traveling back and forth to our summer and winter homes!
We bought this generator on 12 March 2019, we looked at this one, Honda and Predator (Harbor Freight). We chose this one for the Company's reputation and quality for over a century, and couldnt justify dropping 4x the price for the same power and features with the Honda name. For the price, this inverter can't be beat. We followed all procedures out of the box and it runs like a dream. Very quiet and fuel efficient. We have used it every weekend since we purchased it boondocking with our 35' RV and it powers everything, including the AC, and only uses maybe 1/4 of the power available. With A/C running, the 3.4 gallons lasts about 10-12 hrs, with no A/C running we average 15-18 hrs... simply incredible. We replaced a pair a Champion 2200s and Im so glad we did. The only reason we give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the design of the architecture for oil changes. While it gives you a small window to quickly and easily add oil, you have to finagle with tools in a very tight and cramped space to remove/insert the oil drain plug which is located on the side of the oil tank instead of the bottom. This causes oil to drip down the side and cause a mess inside the compartment which is extremely hard to clean up. Also the side panel is not easily removable as say the Predator's is. Not a deal breaker, just annoying when you have to change the oil. Overall we love the inverter and would purchase it again in a heartbeat.
This inverter generator will power my 30 amp travel trailer very well when I go dry camping; no need to worry about depleting the batteries, and air conditioning for sleeping, too.
