I've been looking for "just the right generator" for some time. I recently purchased a travel trailer and knew that I'd need a generator. When they told me the price of this one and it had the Westinghouse brand I didn't think about it twice, I brought it and took it home. There are several brands out there to choose from, but this one is really quiet, easy to start, and moves very easy even when it's full of gas.
I bought it and by the time it got here, a hurricane had already hit our area. The inverter powered up the fridge, a freezer, a small electric stove, the WiFi, a computer, a couple of fans and a few small electronics and only about 25% output capacity was achieved. With the energy efficiency feature, a full tank last about 18 hours. Simple to manage. Highly recommended!
I got this last week, and this thing is amazing. It is so quiet, and the handles and wheels make it super easy to maneuver. Especially the bottom handle that extends.
After lots of searching for an inverter generator for my RV I settled on this one. It's powerful enough to run everything in my RV, including the AC, and relatively quiet for the price point.
The reason for the 4 stars is the automatic choke. Out of the box the generator started, but smoked like crazy and would not run properly. After some research online I found a service bulletin regarding the automatic choke. Apparently it's common during shipping for an electrical connection behind the main panel to pop loose which impacts the automatic choke. After reconnecting it seems to run without issue. We'll just have to see how long before I have to open it back up again and reconnect. For now everything is good.
I ordered this in mid-August, but it did not arrive until 4 weeks later, so I've not had a chance to do much more than set it up, start and test run it a few times. It runs quieter that I expected and the extendable handle makes it easy to move around, though over 100# in weight. Starting sequence is straight-forward, and the remote and electric start make it easy for my wife to start/use, too.
Bought this recently and am very satisfied with it. Although I cannot comment on longevity, I see no reason why it wouldn't last for years with regular usage if maintained well. It is VERY quiet. Preparation for first time usage is simple. Instructions in operators manual are very fragmented with an overkill of warnings about "don't do this or you may die" but if you are able to read thru this, all of the important information is there. Instructions for first time use include adding .6 L (the total capacity of engine oil) of 10w-30 motor oil. The oil provided is in a .6 L bottle and instructions say to pour entire bottle into oil fill reservoir. Makes sense, except when I did this, it over-filled the reservoir a bit and oil overflowed, which I had to quickly take care of. I'm assuming this is because of residual oil used for testing at the factory that was not entirely drained before shipping. Also, the serial number of this machine is nowhere to be found ON THE MACHINE. It is a sticker on the outside of the box. I spent some time searching for this by removing panels off the machine only to find nothing, and to resort to searching the website for "location of serial number". Overall - GREAT generator and I'd buy again. Highly recommended.
