Everything about this generator appears to be first class, and I do not say that lightly I’ve been building high-quality products for over 30 years and they did a nice job on this one I hope it lasts as good as it looks and feels.

Amazing generator

Just purchased to use out camping, A+ job on the extendable handle Westinghouse and love love how quiet it is. Best generator to date and we have a smaller Yamaha so what’s that tell you.

Just received new iGen4500 and it was easy to setup and start. Ran with small load in preparation for Hurricane Season. Very quiet compared to other generators in my neighborhood.

Great Generator - Westinghouse needs to fix….

Ok, this generator is dollar for dollar, the best generator you are going to get for under a thousand dollars. It’s super quiet and perfect for an RV park. It has many features that would cost you twice as much for with other companies.
However, Westinghouse, fix the choke control coming unplugged during shipping problem already!!! First, this should not hinder you from buying this product. Go through the reviews and you will find unhappy customers where their generator ran rough and stalled. I did tons of research and found a service bulletin before I bought it. I got my generator and sure enough, it had the same issues many people complained about. It would stall out, run rough, and refueled to start. So, I opened up the panels, found the cord that came unplugged during shipping, plugged it back in, and now it works beautifully. But seriously, you’ll find reviews from over two years ago complaining about the same issue. So, Westinghouse, please fix this issue already.
For setup, here are some helpful tips.
1. Don’t just fill up the generator with oil. Fill it with 3/4 of the bottle provided. Check the oil. Add a little more if needed and check again. Keep doing this until it’s full. Most likely, there’s a little oil still in it from the factory. If you pour the whole bottle in there, you will most likely overflow it.
2. Make sure you add fuel stabilizer to your fuel before you put it in the generator.
3. Check out the bulletin. You may need it.
4. The battery ships in the compartment but it is unplugged. So, plug it in before starting it.
5. Unless you plan to use the generator right away, I recommend only filling it a quarter full with gas. Fill it all the way up when you need to use it, that way you keep fresh fuel in it.

Needs bigger wheels.

After years of owning a smaller inv/gen, we decided to upgrade. Based on several weeks of comparison shopping, we decided on the Westinghouse iGen 4500, and am very pleased. With more power and quieter operation than many others, this is the machine for me. The only downfall are the relatively small wheels (The ruts and roots in the northwoods are sometimes more than the wheels can handle).

Just what we needed!

We purchased this to power our travel trailer and to take boon docking. The best feature is the remote start! It worked wonderfully when we used it with our trailer. Everything worked as stated and it couldn't have been easier to start and operate! And the noise level is very doable, no complaints from any neighbors! Very happy with this product:)
