Purchased the WGen11500TFc to replace a smaller generator. Goal of the purchase was to have whole house power thru a transfer switch. The build quality is impressive. Assembly was easy although this machine is heavy. Once I got it on ground level, it was easy to add the feet and wheels and to prep for running. The noise level was similar to the unit it replaced, but this new WGen unit has twice the power. Overall, I was happy with the sound once it warmed up - which was quick. Pairing the remote fob was a little challenging as I could not figure out how to pair without the starter running, but it worked the first time I tried. Overall, I am happy with the purchase...should have plenty of power to run the house when needed later this summer.

wgen 11500tfc on natural gas

The Unit runs fine on Natural Gas after you close the spark plug gap down to 25 thousands ,but would not run at all set on 30 ------------the supplied hose is 25 feet long by 1/2" with brass flare fittings and has a female quick attached on one end --- the 4 oz (7"of water collum) house regulator seems to furnish enough supply but not sure yet if it starves out other gas fired appliances ----------- I would hope that Westinghouse will modify the manual to include the above and also the estimated CFM natural gas full load fuel draw --- get some strong help loading/unboxing this thing and putting the wheels on it as it is bad heavy until you get the wheels on it --- has large muffler and doesn't seem any louder than other smaller open frame generators to me ----BTW we have a open flame NG hot water heater in the garage and opted out on ever putting gasoline in this garage stored unit not to mention the stale fuel issues between usages but the 25% power loss on NG is real and requires a bigger unit to begin with

Questionable Quality

I had very high hopes for this generator due to the high power output, tri-fuel, and low THD. The delivery was perfect, and it appears to be a very solid and well built generator. Started it up (using propane), and it does run and produce power, but it has an odd rattling sound from the engine that just doesn't sound right. Contacted Westinghouse support, and of course they want me to take it to a service center to have it looked at. So now I have to figure out a way to transport this 230 lbs beast to a service center that is about 1 hour away, and then figure out how to get it back home after they diagnose and hopefully fix the issue. Another small issue I noticed is that the 120V GFCI outlets are very difficult to plug into due to the tamper resistant shutters. it takes several minutes of pushing a plug in a different angles, and then you still have to force it in. Hopefully it turns out to be a great generator, but it's not off to a good start.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Machine

Just got and tried it out. Hooked it into the house and it did great. Lights were strong and not pulsating like they did with our old generator. Love having other fuel options as our road floods a lot. So happy with this unit. Hope it lasts many years.

RECEIVED TODAY. ASSEMBLED AND TRIED ON ALL THREE FUELS. FIRED RIGHT UP ON ALL THREE FUELS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. BREAKING IT IN RIGHT NOW. REALLY LIKE THE LOW HARMONIC DISTORTION ≤5%. HOPE THAT STANDS TRUE. THE TRI FUEL FEATURE IS ALSO AN IMPORTANT PLUS. HOPE THE QUALITY AND RELIABILITY IS THERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. TIME WILL TELL.
