Wgen11500TFc tri fuel unit

Received the unit 2 weeks ahead of schedule!! Connected to 20lb propane tank. Started right up after adding oil. Ran with no load for 40 minutes. Connected to house power via transfer switch and 50 amp cable. Wouldn't power any outlets. Didn't realize the main breaker was in the off position. After main breaker put on, started powering up everything. Trying to stay at no more than 50% load for break in period. Worked great including my upstairs ac unit!!

I bought this particular model for its portability and tri fuel ability. Battery was DOA and the negative connection was not installed correctly but iall it took was an easy twist of the 10mm socket. Other than that it seems to be in good working order. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I haven't tested all fuel types yet but I'll post an update when I do.

WGen11500 - Outstanding Performance
on May 6, 2024

Today I received my WGen11500 generator - it took me less than an hour to pull it out of the box, assemble it, hook up the propane, and fire it up for a test run. I put a 50% load on it and it purred like a kitten. It didn’t hesitate. It didn’t warble, ran smooth as silk. I can’t wait to try it with gasoline next weekend.

Bought from Homedepot, was undamaged and came with all accessories, Its quite heavy and assembly was easy enough. Already did the break in and connected to my house via a 50amp twist lock inlet box. Generator is stored in a modified Rubbermaid plastic shed with intake vents and a attic fan. Runs nice and cool on LPG and exhaust is routed outside the shed with a class B stove pipe I self tapped onto the muffler. Co2 sensor doesn't trip even with the shed doors closed. There also appears to be 2 different versions of the 11500tfc, one with a oil filter and one without, luckily Mine has one.
My dislikes:
The Manual. I understand there was a typo in alot of manuals stating the THD% was 23% instead of 5%, Westinghouse has confirmed the 11500tfc is indeed 5% but the manual Iv received with my 11500tfc does NOT mention the THD% anyone in the entire manual, so that's concerning.
The Break In. The manual states 5hrs under 50% load, well for starters you NEED to purchase separately a M12 x 1.5 magnetic oil drain plug before you even start it. I ran it for 1hr and changed the oil only the find a Glittery mess and alot of metal shaving on the magnet. Ran for another 4hrs with varying load under 50% and while it still had a bit of metal flakes it was alot better. So safe to say you need to do at least 2 oil changes during the break in, and one of them being within the first hour. Not sure why they couldn't include a magnetic drain plug or dip stick for this price but w.e.
The info screen. This one is more personal but I wish it was a load or wattage reading on the info screen, Frequency is nice but its far less useful.

Westinghouse 10500 tri fuel
on May 7, 2024

Bought the 10500 trifuel. Easy set up right out of the box. The remote starter is very convenient and fired the generator up on the 1st push, using LP. Although it is a big generator the handle it comes with allows easy maneuverability.
