A serious design flaw

I bought this generator to support my “off grid” cabin!. It started and ran well right out of the box , It has a battery start and optional “pull start” . The battery switch must be turned off anytime the generator is not running as the monitor will kill the battery.. The problem is the pull start will not start the generator if the battery is dead ! defeating the purpose of the pull start .. I was told this is unique to “duel fuel” units as the battery controls a fuel valve . Also the battery must be “on” for “auto start” to work, but will go dead in 24 hours.. defeating the purpose of auto start !!
I will have to provide for an external battery charger to somehow keep the battery charged when the generator is in “standby” !! This Flaw really impairs the reliability of this unit as an auto start power supply backup! This can be easily be fixed with a “manual “ fuel valve and delete the lighted display!

I bought this yesterday to be ready for this hurricane season coming. Has great reviews, solid reputation. It’s large enough to power my entire home. Build quality looks solid, looking forward to many years of service ahead.

Great Inverter Generator

I just bought this generator to replace my 20 year old generator (which is still working). I wanted a generator with enough wattage to power my home A/C and this fits the bill. I also wanted a quieter generator and this is way quieter than my old generator. I can stand next to it and carry on a conversation without going deaf. I plan on using propane as primary fuel so duel fuel was required. I have run it on propane to check function and everything worked. Remote, push button, and manual start (if required) available. Battery charger included. Simple setup. Remove from box, add oil, make sure battery is charged and start. I have been through many hurricanes and know how useful a generator can be. I have been lucky and only had to use one a couple of times, but all the neighbors were making their morning coffee on my back patio. This generator will give me piece of mind during hurricane season. Hope I never have to use it, but I'm prepared. Great product!

Purchased to replace a previously purchased Westinghouse generator. Did not disappoint. Started right up, ran the furnace as needed. Not completely quiet , but pleasantly quiet.

Runs so much quieter than our other generator plus now this one is already all set up so all we have to do is just flip switch and turn it on. The only thing that it needs is a cutoff valve on the carburetor.

First Operating Review

I wrote my unpacking review a month ago, and now I've completed my first break-in operation. After checking the oil - just to make sure - and connecting the battery and filling the tank with gas that was treated with Sta-Bil, I rolled it out into the driveway. I decided to try using the remote fob, and it started right up. It ran a little rough at first, but I realized I had it in Eco mode, so I switched that off and it smoothed right out. I let it run for 30 minutes, and plan to do that every month until I get through the 5 hour break-in, then change the oil. I was very impressed by how smooth it ran and how quiet it was. After I shut it down, I plugged in the battery tender that came with it to make sure the battery stays in good shape. I am still very happy with my purchase.
