POOR DESIGN

Although the knife rack itself is nice and works well for a lot of knives my wife and I had an AWFUL situation develop that was due to the knife tray. One of the knives on the top slot area "hiked up" and became wedged against the underside of the island cabinet wood where the drawer is located...and it caused the drawer to stop opening. It took us 7 hours to finally free the stuck handle from the wooden island drawer framing. The design of the knife rack was to blame. I was surprised by this happening and as a result we no longer put any knives on the top rack of the the knife rack..rendering it far less useful than purchased. I have always like Shun products but this one is awful. I would not purchase it again.

My Shun Knife organizer works great for all of my knives, large and small! There's even a place for the sharpening steel ! My Knife collection is safely organized in a drawer
