Bought this cooler in the green color back in 2019. Cannot say that I've used it a lot...I'm an avid outdoorsman/hunter/fisherman from the Midwest but I usually take single trips, so I have not needed this 54qt cooler. I have, however, camped and done day trips with my wife and new baby daughter and this cooler is not worth your time. It will hold a 10lb bag of ice with 10-12 items in it for roughly 24 hours if you don't open it, which is not bad. MY BIG COMPLAINT, AND THE REASON YOU SHOULDN'T BUY THIS COOLER, is the steel belt. The female end of the steel belt latch mechanism is plastic and wears faster than a pair of underwear. I can, with two fingers, easily pop open the lid as it's "locked". The product description says it will handle all sorts of bumps in the road, but can it handle this bump of a scathing review?? As I said, I normally don't take this big cooler, so I have only used it five or six times in the last two years, but the latch is already worthless. A steel belt latch should last longer, no?? Attached are photos to show that the part of the 'steel' belting mechanism is indeed plastic. Should've paid more attention to it when I bought it! It's not my dad's generation of Coleman, that's for sure! You all would be better off spending the extra $50-$75 and upgrading to a roto-molded cooler. I will be.

Leaking after 6 months

After six months of owning the cooler it started leaking from the bottom. Seems like the seal between the bottom section and body has split and water leaks out of it. Tried taking it back to the store but they wouldn't replace it. Had to throw it away, what a waste.

Buy a Coleman Marine Cooler instead

I have had this cooler for 4 years. I have a Jeep with zero air conditioning or air flow so I need this daily in our typical humid New Jersey summers. I'd return my black steal belted cooler if I could. I would get a Coleman Marine Cooler instead. This steel belted cooler looks nice, but the paint is already rusting 4 years after very moderate use. The exterior dents easily. The ice retention is 2.5 days at the most. Thank goodness there's a drain. This was an impulse buy that I regret. If I'd have done the research I'd have gotten something else. Just because this looks good doesn't means it performs well. Goodluck everyone.

Love this cooler!

This cooler works perfectly for my family on our weekend camping trips. I wanted a larger sized cooler for drinks, so the kids wouldn’t have to go in and out of the camper all day. This is a solid cooler, no issues, keeps ice well beyond the weekend. I get so many compliments on it too!

Latch fell apart within a dozen uses

I purchased this because I wanted sturdy hinges and latch. I use only for Lake pLowell trips 3-4 times a year so maybe 10 uses and the latch catch in the cover has come out and now lost.

not worth the money

i now have 2 of these coolers they do not hold ice any longer then 2-3 day one of them the latch is loose the 2nd leaks from the drain plug for the cost of these coolers i should have bought a different brand live and learn i guess

Love the look and the ability to keep cool

Love this cooler! We have had this for 3 years and it still is in amazing condition. The powder blue retro look is awesome. The cooler keeps things cold and ice stays in this well. It’s nice to see there are coolers that are as technically pleasing and keeps things cool. The Yeti that everyone loves is honestly hideous.
