This cooler does not at latch well. It also came with lots of glue on it that I had to scrape off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Cooler... But Unfinished

This is a very fine cooler. However, the only way ice will last for 4 days in this thing is if you bury it in a snowbank. When I got this cooler and used it, we stocked up on ice for the approaching hurricane (we live in Florida, the name of the hurricane is irrelevant). After two days, I noticed the cooler had leaked bigtime. Upon inspection, I noticed there was no bushing on the drain plug. So I removed the drain plug assembly, installed a [tight-fitting] rubber o-ring, re-installed the assembly, and it now works great. No leaks! The cooler is a bit overpriced considering the assembly was obviously incomplete.

Very nice sturdy cooler. I've been using a coleman cooler for a lunch pale for 25 years. Not this cooler in pictures.

I have had this forever and it's great. Keeps everything nice and cold. It's very heavy duty as well. The material and metal make it very nice. I highly recommend this if you use coolers.

Great investment

This steel belted cooler was part of my childhood. Our vacations consisted of tent camping all over the Pacific Northwest with my family of 6. 40 yrs later my brother still is using this exact cooler. It is indestructible!

I didn’t have this exact one, but I do have a much older one. I’d swear this cooler is older than I am (25). I like how sturdy it is and how well it holds up! It’s still keeping ice well. I also use it for game, and frozen beef. I take it fishing with me to put my catches in there, plus it makes for aesthetic photos.
