this cooler is poorly made and not the standards I would expect, the latch fell apart and looks like it was very cheap. I would not recommend this

Old meets new

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This purchase was to upgrade to a new Coleman steel belted cooler. The original was purchased back in the 70's. Why do I still have the box? Usually the boxes I have are for items that no longer exist. The price has definately gone up. See photo. The new cooler is of the same quality and I hope it to last another 40 years like the first. Same features only 2 quarts smaller. Both versions made in the USA!

Poorly made with a ridiculous price tag!

I have been around this model cooler for about a decade and they keep getting cheaper and easier to break. Coleman as a whole does make products worth purchasing but this cooler is a flop. I wish people would stop buying this garbage cooler and read the reviews before having bad experiences later down the road.
I know the cooler looks appealing but it does not keep ice for a full day. The latch breaks after 6-8 months. The top will just fall out due to the moisture weakening the glue. And the patches that hold the lid on, will come loose and again another home repair.
I have a marine cooler made by Coleman and it is not only better quality but holds ice for 3-5 days easy. It I also priced around 80% less than this model so it’s unfortunate for aesthetics, this cooler is still on the market.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The plastic handle and the latch doesn't close. I would never recommend this cooler and will be returning it.

Pretty and does the job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were camping and wanted a cooler for picnics. We bought the turquoise and placed ice in it the first night. During the week long trip, that ice lasted about 3.5 days. The cold water would have kept stuff cold for a while longer, too.

Saved The Day!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been a Coleman fan since my childhood camping with my family. We always had Coleman camp gear and it never let us down. I inadvertently proved the Coleman durability again while on a recent 4 wheeling trip. I love 4 wheeling and have 2 Coleman Steel Belted Coolers on a rack on the back of my rock crawler. I was attempting a difficult line up this granite slab and the next thing I saw was blue sky. I thought for sure I was going over backwards, but I stopped just past vertical THANKS to my Coleman Cooler!! The cooler miraculously kept me from rolling over backwards. Unfortunately the cooler got bent up pretty bad, but I was very happy to not be laying on my roof. There is no question in my mind that the Coleman Coolers saved the day. Thank you for building a quality product that stands up to the abuse of the rugged outdoors and crazy adventurous people like me!!

A classic never goes out of style

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this cooler was not bought new by me from a store, it justifies being reviewed here by being an all time classic. I had one a lifetime ago, but it proved not to be fireproof, and thus I was left to the whims of inferior coolers for many years. When the opportunity to purchase one at a reasonable price presented itself, I naturally jumped on it. It has since represented itself quite well whenever given the call. It serves as an ice and pop dispenser at family gatherings the majority of the time, but regardless of the task, it's always been up to the job. I'm sure I will continue to enjoy it's faithful service for yeas to come.
