Nice Cooler... But Unfinished

This is a very fine cooler. However, the only way ice will last for 4 days in this thing is if you bury it in a snowbank. When I got this cooler and used it, we stocked up on ice for the approaching hurricane (we live in Florida, the name of the hurricane is irrelevant). After two days, I noticed the cooler had leaked bigtime. Upon inspection, I noticed there was no bushing on the drain plug. So I removed the drain plug assembly, installed a [tight-fitting] rubber o-ring, re-installed the assembly, and it now works great. No leaks! The cooler is a bit overpriced considering the assembly was obviously incomplete.

This cooler does not at latch well. It also came with lots of glue on it that I had to scrape off.

Fabulous retro cooler! I keep this in the back of my SUV for road trips and stock up runs for the grocery store. Keeping it in the cargo area I get ice first and then load it up in the vehicle. So much easier! It does have sturdy handles for the guys to lift and carry. Nice drain spout so I slide it on the carpet to the cargo hatch door to drain.

Poor Lid Latch

Received this as a work gift and was very excited. However, like many have mentioned, the plastic latch is extremely poorly made, and fails to fully latch the lid more than half the time. Once latched, you can still pull the lid open with little effort. Because it was a gift from 3 years ago I assume it's no longer under warranty, plus who wants to try to ship a large cooler? Unfortunate because it didn't leak, like others have mentioned, so I feel like I got a good one otherwise.

I’ve been a Coleman product user for over 53 years. Stove, tent heater , couple of coolers with No complaints. Passed on to my son the steel belted I had in the early 70’s a few yrs back. Missed the quality. Bought a new on.
