Great phone for my kid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G for my oldest kid and so far it’s been a great choice. It has a nice screen, runs smoothly for everyday apps, texting, videos, and games, and has plenty of features without the price tag of a high-end phone.
Setup was easy, and the Samsung interface is familiar and straightforward. For a kid’s first smartphone, this feels like a really good balance of price, performance, and features. So far, I’m very happy with the purchase.

Great mid-tier option

While it's not the absolute fastest on the market, it's a good sturdy dependable workhorse without all the bells and whistles. I would recommend for anyone who uses the phone for average daily tasks like phone and text, email and casual games.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose to purchase my Samsung A17 based on the fact that it was more affordable than the S series I am used to owning. I love the fact that this phone has expandable memory up to 2 terabytes. It is slower than my old phone and the battery life is shorter. It is however a descent phone for the price. I use my phone for gaming and occasionally streaming. Most of the time, I am very happy with this phone. The main thing I would change on this phone would be to extend the battery life. Over all, I like my phone and would most likely buy it again.....

It works great moat of the time it does need to be restartes every day or it slows down. The oprateing system crashes quite frequently. But when its not being slow or crashwing it is a great phone for the 200 dollar price tag.

Samsung should be an everyday household pick

Ive had several Samsung phones in the past and they all were all quality devices. My first government phone was a Samsung and I have been in love with quality and uniqueness of each device I've owned. I've never had a problem with any of them. I currently own an old soundbar that I use with my Vizio television and the sound bars compatibility is great. Thank you Samsung for all you do to make lives simplified with all your great products!

Glitches and laggy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the A17 believing I was upgrading from A14. It has been problematic from the get const crashes. Volume buttons hijacked the phone now they rarely work. Switching from tab to tab completely resets and your waiting on it to reload. Problematic if you need code to log in. I love the A series but this is not a a recommended model

While there can be a slight delay of a few seconds when you press the volume button, it shouldn't exceed 3-5 seconds. To improve responsiveness, go to **Settings > Accessibility > Advanced settings** and check if your volume buttons are assigned to specific accessibility shortcuts or "Switch Access." If they are, try turning those options off to see if it helps.
For tasks requiring two-factor authentication or multi-factor authentication (MFA), using split-screen mode can be very helpful. This way, you can avoid losing your place and enter information without needing to switch back and forth between apps.
Here’s how to open two apps in split-screen mode:
1. Open the app you want to use in the first half of the screen.
2. Tap the recent apps button (the square icon) to access your open apps.
3. Find the second app you want to open, then tap and hold it.
4. Select "Split Screen" from the menu that appears.
The second app will then open in the top half of the screen while the first app remains in the bottom half.
