Happy I upgraded

This is my first set of Shun knives, as I have always been accustomed to German knives like Wusthof and Henckel. I'm glad I bit the bullet and upgraded. I have owned this set for 5 years now and couldn't be happier. These are definitely lighter than other knives and should not be used the same as those heavier knives. They are not designed for chopping and cutting through bones; rather, they are made to be used with finesse and slicing. You cannot use these with the expectation that they are the same as heavy, thick, German knives; otherwise, you end up with broken tips. These are lightweight and feel great in the hand and their sharpness is unparalleled. They are as functional as they are beautiful. As I mentioned, I've owned mine four 5 years now and use them daily. I hone them about once a week to keep the edge and actually sharpen them with a whetstone about every 6 months to a year, depending on use. I have since purchased other Shun knives and have been pleased with them all. I highly recommend them. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to use and care for them and you will be pleased with them for years.

Functionality and beauty hand in hand

I bought this set for a friend of mind and he said those exact words 'those by a long shot are the best knives I ever used and from a guy who worked in a gastronomical restaurant that says a lot. What ever way you grip them they feel comfortable, the factory edge last for what seems for ever, and the beauty of craftsmanship on those blades is just amazing. If you want one of these don't hesitate you won't be disappointed.

Premier 3-Peace Starter Set

I bought this with my wife and was blessed to get my hands on this set at a local store. These are perfect for anyone getting into cooking like my self. Very sharp cut and with a sharp look it will be a talking peace when friends come over. I will say make sure you do your research when buying beautiful knives like these. Because, there are so many steel types and there is one for just about every life style. If you are going to be lazy and not wash and dry right away. Because, you can’t just throw these in a dishwasher. Got to give them the love they deserve. Thanks Shun for your bone sharp knives and the work y’all put into each one.

The premier three-piece starter set I purchased as a gift for a friend who is an amazing chef but did not have knives of this quality. She loves the knives. And the fact that they came in a beautiful box it turned out to be a great gift.
