I had a large one (1.5qt), and loved it. This one works OK, but not as good as the larger one. I think it is because the paddle doesn’t actually scrape the sides as closely as the larger model’s paddle does, so the frozen part isn’t getting incorporated into the mixture as well. The soft serve result is therefore more liquid with the pint size. The fully frozen result is fine after a few hours in the freezer, though denser and needs to thaw a little before serving. I have tried running the process a little longer, but the frozen device starts to defrost too much and that’s counter-productive.
FYI, I found out from Cuisinart that the container holds 1 3/4 cups of mixture to be frozen. Many online recipes are made for 1.5 quart size so I just make 1/3 recipe and it has worked pretty well.

This is perfect for whipping up two servings of icecream following our supper. We like to experiment with many flavors and add-ins. It doesn't take long to make two servings. I wish the lid was easier to get into place. Perhaps some sort of marking that lets me match which grooves go where???
