Great knife. Good balance, exceptionally sharp. It's great for veggies, though I still need to use two knives to properly cut onions because this doesn't have a tip. I also feel saver leaving it on the counter for short periods of time than I do for my chef's knives.
Surprised by how sharp the knife was out of the box. Being an amateur knife-maker, I super-honed the edge a la Honbazuke method and got it even sharper. Like the fact that it is made out of AUS-10, I know this to be a good steel from my hunting knives.
Very disappointed with recent purchase of this popular Nakiri style knife. Knife isn't sharp at all! It actually crushes instead of slicing soft vegetable. Handle isn't user friendly either, not a good hand feel with slightly rough wood and sharp edges. Prefer my Shun classic handles.
