Excellent chef knife

I own 3 chef knives. This one is my 4th. It is superior to the others on every aspect, retains a sharper edge longer, very well balanced, very enjoyable to use and makes cutting easier. Very recommended.

I really like this knife. It is very sharp hold the blade well. Highly recommend this knife. my only complaint is I wish it came with a way to store it for the price it should have a blade cover of some sort.

Knife is beautiful, sharp, thin. Anxious to see how it holds its edge. Fits my hand extremely well. Glad I went for the hollow-ground version — it slides right through veggies.

My Ideal General Use Knife

This is the knife I’ve been looking for!
It has it all: lightweight, comfortable sized and shaped handle (for both my small hands and brother in law’s giant hands), perfect position and shape for the bolster and choil which allows me to actually use them, and the balance is exactly where it should be making it a breeze to both "push" and "pull" when cutting. The blade cuts smoothly and easily without getting stuck, and even after nearly an hour of constant use I didn’t feel fatigued/sore/stiff. This is the first knife in a long time to actually feel natural when using a "locomotion" type movement and I never feel worried about it slipping in my grip.
And to top it off it’s a beautiful looking knife!
The only “con” is that the blade is ground to a narrower angle than most western-style knives, so if you have a pull through sharpener just be aware that it might not be the correct size.

My fiancée bought me this blade for my birthday, and it’s one of the nicest knifes I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is, I wish it came with some sort of way to properly store the blade

Beauty and functionality combined

Ive been eyeing Shun knives for several years but never took the leap until just recently. Needless to say I am completely happy with my purchase and the functionality of the knife. It is some of the finest cutlery that I have owned. I recommend it highly to anyone looking for quality high end cutlery.
