THis was a purchase that was supposed to be functional and a problem solver. The beautiful sunny summer we had was hard to enjoy with daylong exposure to full sun. Our table umbrella was useless! When the box with the pergola arrived, we knew that putting it together was out of our wheelhouse - but honestly, not that much. Still, we hired a handy friend to put it together and he had it assembled in under 2 hours! It looks amazing! Like country club cabana amazing!!! We added a tension rod to the back supports with outdoor curtains that can be pulled together to shade the setting late afternoon sun. The look is very custom and cozy. Also, there is a counter height bar/stabilizer which is a fun place to sit and enjoy a cocktail!! Our friend suggested we NOT screw it into the concrete because, he promised, it was NEVER going anywhere due to its heft and construction. I was very skeptical. But summer came and went and now fall. We live on the shore of Lake Michigan and we have had 40/50 MPH wind days but the structure remains solid as a rock. The shade is porous mesh and allows wind and rain to pass through so it doesn��t become airborne. Feeling very comfortable keeping it up all winter... PS. Wish I had a better photo - it��s really attractive and extremely productive!!!

I built it as a surprise (by myself) for my wife's birthday. She loved it! as able to build it by myself in a day. Amazing product especially for the price!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always been pretty happy with products from Sunjoy and this pergola is another great product from them! I've had a few gazebos in the past that have done well, but they've all had a fabric covering for the top portion and they normally only last a season and have to be replaced. But with this steel pergola I can tell it's going to last a long time. I live in Texas where it's hot and humid with crazy weather that can change from one minute to the next. We recently had a hail storm roll through and this thing held up beautifully! It's pretty hot so far and the sun can take a toll on outdoor items, but this pergola is still holding on strong...no fading, and just a nice looking as when I first put it up. Another added bonus is how easy it is to set up. My spouse and I were able to get it up in a day. All necessary parts were included and it was packaged very well. If you're in the market for a pergola, this would be an excellent choice! You can't go wrong with this one!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The directions were easy to follow, some of the holes at the top don't line up but for the most part it did, the canvas cover is a little to small and you really have to pull it to get it to attach to the Velcro on 1 side I hope over time it will stretch a little more
