Nice but lost the most important feature from the HX5. Numerous times I have pulled the HX5R out of my pocket and the light is on. With the switch on the side and not on the end cap like the HX5 the HX5R is much more prone to negligent discharging the light. It is also much more difficult to index for quick deployment.
I do however like all of the lumens variables but most importantly not having to cycle them all every time just to turn it off. Construction is on par as well as the ability to use a normal AA battery if desired or needed.
Overall good but less two stars for ND’s and indexing…which could both be fixed with an end cap switch like the HX5.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great little bright flashlight.

I've this flashlight for almost 4 years now and use it on the job pretty much every day. The 3.7 volt Li-Ion rechargeable battery is just starting to go but still works. It so convenient just to plug into a usb a charger.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally gave up, threw both of them in the garbage. Buying 2 more regular HX5 and using my own recharchable batteries. Had 2 HX5 for many yrs.wore them out.

I bought 2 of these models one for home and one for the car. Neither of them hold a charge for too long. Going back to regulat HX5 model Sitill have 1 of those. I use them with my own rechargable batteries and still going strong. I thought it woud be convinient to just plug them in to a USB port. versus having to take the batteries out of my regular HX5. Instead XH5R are never ready when I need them the most.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The weight of this flashlight is a little bit more heavier than I liked
on a full charge battery life last 30 to 40 minutes continuously on. There is no warning signal letting you know battery is about to die there’s been several times I’ve been in inside an attic and it just turned completely off…!!!!
