The handle is thinner than my 6100 and also lighter to hold, which is not a problem for me. The 4100 cleans my teeth effectively and the speed is the same as the 6100. It has 2 speeds but both are effective for cleaning from my experience. The slower speed is better for my gums, as I have had gum work done. The battery life like the 6100 depends on the speed
