Zithion-X AAA Does NOT Hold a Charge

I have 12 Zithion-X AAA batteries that work great when fully charged. However, they do not hold a charge in storage or installed for more than a month. They are completely drained when I need them. I also have 12 AA batteries that work and store fine. Are my AAA batteries defective, or is this typical?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like my Zithion AA and AAA batteries so far

I bought them two weeks ago and they have consistently charged reliably using the included cables
I don't know how they will perform in many different types of devices yet but so far they have performed well.
As far as reviews saying COAST doesn't stand by their products I say Baloney!
Coast has gone above and beyond to make sure all my warranty needs were taken care of
quickly for many years (They have always answered the phone as well)
They even honored a very low price mistakenly listed in a sale email for a high end flashlight. (the wrong Model # was listed by mistake)
They honored the very low price in that sale email, and they consistently stand behind their products

I bought a rechargeable light and coast sent me a coupon ! So I bought AAA and AA to upgrade my collection to rechargeable lights instead of paying out the nose for those batteries in store. Do the math .

Basically Useless

Useful life with these AAA batteries is no better than the worst of those "batteries included" AAAs that you find in imported gadgets. The problem is that once a USB-C socket and the battery management circuit are installed into the container, there isn't much room left for the actual battery cell. Performance in remotes, scales, computer mice, etc. is far worse than NiMH batteries.
Now I have the responsibility of disposing of the batteries in a responsible (and legal) manner. The warehouse retailer I purchased them from no longer carries them so I don't know if they will accept them as waste.
The upside of this is that I've been forced to do a better job of managing my NiMH batteries and chargers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
