Coast “AAA” Rechargeable Batteries 4 Pack is GREAT

Coast “AAA” Rechargeable Batteries 4 Pack, Model #30985 is a GREAT set of batteries. These batteries each have a built-in Type C charging port, and the 4 lead Type C charging cable is included with the batteries. The nice feature of this charging cable is that the input side has a standard USB Type A along with a Type C conversion adapter so it can be used with literally any traditional cell/smartphone as the charging power source. As a result of this unique charging cable, you now no longer have to carry/use a bulky charger base to recharge the batteries. I really like the fact that each battery has its own LED (Light Emitting Diode) indicator charge light (red while charging and green when completely charged) and each rechargeable battery has the Coast overcharge/discharge protection circuit to protect the operating of life the battery. Depending on the charge that remains in the battery when it is recharged will determine how quickly the battery recharges to maximum strength, usually in a half to one hour time period. The rechargeable battery size is the same dimensions when compared the same size non-rechargeable battery, so they fit and work great in flashlights, radios, etc. where you have used traditional, non-rechargeable batteries. I really like the fact these batteries are corrosion resistant as I have ruined some flashlights in the past with traditional leaky batteries when they die. These batteries are an excellent choice to use in order to be environmentally responsible compared to the traditional throw away batteries! According to Coast, these batteries can be recharged up to 1,000 times so I am very impressed. This represents true cost savings when compared to buying traditional non-rechargeable batteries. I am a true believer in the performance of these Coast rechargeable batteries!

About 1/2 the run time of an alkaline battery.

I ran this against 2 year old AC Delco alkaline batteries in 2 FL13 head lights. Room temperature 2 hr 30 min for the alkaline. 1 hr 45 min for the rechargeable batteries. After an overnight in a freezer 1 hr 30 minutes for the alkaline. 50 minutes for the rechargeable batteries.

These batteries are game changers, individual USB C charging is one of the best ideas I have seen in a long time. No more bulky chargers or old style rechargeable AAA/AA that will not power most devices due to a lower voltage/current limitation on the old style rechargeable. As a A/V Installation Technician I have many tools with regular battery requirements. Multi-meter, network tester, cable toner, signal generator, laser level, flashlights etc...I am now saving a lot in the cost of disposables without impacting my tool use, great job Coast and top notch customer service.

These batteries may seem a little bit high priced, but let me tell you for the price you pay that shirt to pack a punch. They are amazing. They are the strongest, longest lasting and durable convenient batteries I’ve ever use that were rechargeable I put them in the coast, headlamp and flashlight and that runs for 2 to 3 times the duration of the runtime of the light on top of the convenient and easy for USB-C charging plug adapters that come with them makes them even more amazing. Absolutely amazing love them and will start buying these now instead of leaving competitor ones that are nowhere near the quality. Another great product thanks coast!

Just came off a 6 day backpacking trip and used 3 of these in a headlamp with one dimmable superbright white LED and 3 rgb LEDs. The remaining AAA went to the free Coast KL10 that came as a premium with my battery purchases (4 AA and 4 AAA Zithion X rechargeable Li-ions). I got 6 nights of judicious usage from my headlamp with some residual charge. The mini light lasted 5 nights but was kind of bright and hot to the touch when used longer than a few minutes. Thanks for the gift, Coach.
On a similar trip I used similar form factor cheap Li-ion AAAs in the same headlamp but these barely lasted a night. Coach has definitely provided a superior product, albeit at a premium price. You get what you pay for. I have been a long time user and gifter of Coast lights and recognize the attention to build quality.
Now, I'll be looking forward to see how the AAs do.
