When the MSI laptop is plugged into the wall and running in Extreme Performance mode, I experience significant battery drain while gaming. The issue is especially noticeable in more demanding games. Even though the original charger is connected, the battery can continue to drop during gameplay, and performance can also decrease as the battery level gets lower.
This is frustrating because a gaming laptop should be able to maintain stable performance while connected to its included power adapter. MSI itself recommends using the original power adapter while gaming to allow the CPU and GPU to operate at high frequencies.
I have also experienced situations where the laptop shows that it is plugged in but is not charging. I understand that MSI laptops have battery protection features that can intentionally stop charging at certain percentages, but the behavior I am experiencing occurs during gaming and is accompanied by noticeable performance issues.
Overall, the laptop performs well when everything is working properly, but the power/battery behavior while gaming is a major issue for me. I would expect the included charger and laptop to be able to maintain consistent performance during normal plugged-in gaming.
