Super easy to install, no more cords! I used a multitool/oscillating saw instead of the handsaw they provided but I’m sure that would have worked just fine as well. Had everything done in 10-15 minutes. Most of the time was just deciding the location then trace the template, cut the holes, and the the screws work like drywall anchors and don’t actually screw into anything. Super happy with it.
Overall, I love this in-wall cable conceal kit. It looks nice and clean, and I love that the upper box is a 3-gang. It’s also nice to have the drywall knife included in the kit. My only gripe is that the instructions didn’t include that you may need to drill a hole to start your drywall cuts (the knife included doesn’t have a sharp enough end point to puncture the wall) and that you may need fish tape of some kind to get the power cord through the wall to your lower cut hole. Luckily I already had both on hand, so these posed no problems. Once installed, it looked great!
We had a brand new 55" TV that I wanted to mount on the LR wall, but NOT have all the cables hanging below. I actually put the main plate in the LR and the secondary plate in the adjacent room, so the receiver and DVD player are out of sight. This option was possible because my remotes are radio frequency (so can transmit through walls) not InfraRed (which would need a repeater.)
Installation requires above average DIY skills. I actually cut out a 18"X36" section of sheetrock so that I could get sufficient access for running cables (old house with non standard stud alignment.) After I made enough room, I cut a templated hole into a new piece of sheetrock for the main plate, passed the power supply through, cut off the plug and wired directly to the house service. I also ran 2 HDMI cables (one for receiver, one for DVD player) through both plates.
The sheet rock was then screwed in place, joints taped, joint compound applied, smoothed, primed and painted. The TV was attached with a swing arm, just floats off the wall. The final job looks amazing!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mounting cable concealer was great at keeping wires hidden, making the appearance professional and sleek. Easy to install and great for anyone who wants to change up their TV and entertainment area.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had a chance to install this yet, but everything it comes with is awesome. Dry wall knife, cutting templates makes it seem like an easy install. I can't wait to get this installed to hide my cords.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very durable. The material is high quality plastic and the brushes for cables makes for a seem-less installation. The supporting screws keep both ends firmly in place. Huge help for the visual appeal of your tv mounting. This is a “need to have” product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit comes with everything needed to install a wall-mounted tv. Cutting templates and a drywall saw are provided. This is a very nice, sturdy kit that has 3 recessed outlets and a 9 foot extension cord for convenience.
