Well the camera it not a full frame but it just do it just fine. It'll better if it made in full frame.

Soft images

I can't believe it! We're back to the soft image problem again. I made a mistake and jumped on this camera too soon. I should have waited to see what others were saying before buying. The image quality is sub par compared to my Mark III. The images are very soft. I tested it with several lenses and received the same results with all of them. I tried turning off the noise reduction, but it only resulted in extremely noisy images at 400 iso. Speaking from experience with the Mark III, It took Canon 2 years to finally fix the focus on this camera, I hope it will not take that long for them to resolve whatever is plaguing the 7D. My advice is to wait before buying this camera. Read the posts out there.

Just charged the battery and fired it up. In default mode the auto focusing with 70-200 F4L IS was.... much to my shock.... terrible. Initially using a tripod at ISO 400, F4, 200mm, 1/125 I photographed a stationary car and 2/6 shots chose the car, centered in the frame, and the others were randomly focused on the gray featurless pavement distributed around the car. Very confusing.
Next attempted to use AI focus and AI servo mode to photograph cars pulling out of a parking lot and 25% of the images were sharp. ISO was 800 to allow a shutter speed of 1/500 and image stabalization was engaged. Noise was clearly visible with more chroma than luminance.
After setting the focus point group to the central area performance improved. How much was hard to tell as the light was fading. ISO increased to 1600 and there was a lot of noise.
Indoors with the flash and using 17-40 F4L noise subjectively appeared slightly higher than my 40D with the same lens and settings. Resolution was greater once sufficient sharpening was added after down loading the raw images.
As a Canon enthusiast and supporter I sincerely hope this performance is user error and not the 7D's true performance..... if it is it will have to go back.

So far its awesome. I love all the new features and I think it was worth the money to upgrade from my 50D. I mostly shoot sports and with the eight frams per second, I don't know how you can go wrong. I have been having a little trouble adjusting for white balance in my home which was not a problem with my 50d. I have flouresant lights. Other than that, the camera is totally awesome.

Great camera, now i need some LLLLs. this is the camera that got me back in the mood" for a new camera. been using 10Ds, 1D, 40Ds.
