Awesome Camera

I have been using the 7D for about 1 month now. I finally upgraded from my first "semi-professional DSLR" the canon EOS 10D. Yes, the 10D - it was / is such a good camera i never had a real need to move on. Now that I am getting more serious about photography I finally took the plunge.
This camera is outstanding! Breathtaking photos, fast. I have to admit there is a learning curve on the menu items and features, but in all fairness - what do you expect? This camera does dang near everything!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
I would recommend this to a friend!

Starter System with No Limitation

When I purchased my Canon 7D, I was oblivious to the world of photography. I was looking for a quality system for use while diving that wasn't going to force me in to a second mortgage. Online reviews and recommendations from my photophilic relatives led me to choose the 7D, and I have not been disappointed.
As I learn each new facet of quality picture taking, I am repeatedly struck by the iPhone saying, "Got an app for that!" I have yet to encounter an option, ability, or feature that the 7D lacks, doesn't perform well, or is a hassle to use. From a versatile exposure metering sytem to incredibly intuitive and effective AutoFocus modes, the Canon 7D makes taking breath-taking photographs more about the time and place and less about fiddling with sophisticated settings and time consuming trial & error.
Wherever I take my 7D, be it the beach, the park, or out on the dive boat, it inspires "camera-envy" in most everyone I encounter. On a dive trip just this past weekend, the comment was, "Oh, you have the GOOD Canon." Indeed, I expected a quality product, which is why I was willing to invest for a little more than the low-end of the market, but I never expected the respect and recognition that my camera has received during my ventures.
I imagine I will reach a hardware limitation sooner or later, but as of yet I have no idea what that limit might be. My Canon 7D does everything I could ask of it.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

A Little Dissapointing in low light !

Really wished this was a 16 or less cmos, such a pc of machinery with such advancement and high tech with such a dissapointing sensor. don't get me wrong is excellent as long you have a bright a sunny day or if using studio strobes for capturing rich colors and details, but if light is dimm forget it, and the biggest problem is that i havent been able to solve/supress the noise with in camera proc. or dpp or lightroom or adobe camera raw and none can't resolve the noise issue. most images i had taken in low light are not crisp enough to be keepers, even my rebel xsi noise is easily suppressed. canon try to put auto iso limiting or bracketing please, i wont dare to go over iso 1600 while the noise issue can be solve !
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation
Cons: Missing features/settings, noisy

Canon did it right

This is my third digital camera. For six months, I searched for the right DSLR to meet my needs and found it in the new 7D. I’m as excited about owning this camera as when purchasing my first 35mm SLR more than 50 years ago.
This is a shooters camera; a pro camera with a C processor giving the photographer the ability to manipulate functions as required when confronted with various shooting situations. Construction and image qualities are excellent. Grouping of controls is convenient and easy to find by finger touch. The menu system, for me, is intuitive designed around the way I think. You can talk endlessly about the 7D’s attributes; however, at this point, have found Canon’s entire long list of features and descriptions to be true.
Learning the 7D’s system is enjoyable. I’m a general photographer (people, places, events.) Having exposed over 3,000 images with this camera, I continually find new and creative ways for using it in all types of lighting environments.
I’m hard pressed to find faults with the 7D, other than, maybe, the battery life or a bit noisy. However, this doesn’t affect performance.
Would I recommend the 7D? You bet, for anyone wanting to take their photographic work to another level.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, easy to use

Best Canon I have owned so far.

I recently purchased the Canon 7D and feel this is the Best Canon I have owned to date. Previously I have owned, the 10D, 30D, 40D, and Rebel T1i and this is far superior with quality and features. The new focusing system along with the full HD were 2 of the major selling points and they are superb. The customization with the 19 point focusing systems extends creativity and clarity beyond what has been offered outside of the Flagship 1D. The fully manual video recording is a great addition and really allows you to set the mood of the shot with ease. When upgrading it was a choose between the 5D MII and the 7D. The 5D is a great camera as well and the full frame is a huge driving factor that I still want, but I am hoping for a 5D MIII soon with the new 19 point focusing system, new metering, and all the new bells and whistles of the 7D. The only draw back I have is the internal mic and the inability to adjust the audio recording. The internal mic can pick up every little noise. I see the 5D will receive a new firmware update soon to adjust audio and hope the 7D is coming right behind.
In conclusion......I could not be any happier (maybe with full frame) with my 7D. It exceeds my expectations in almost every aspect and recommend this camera to anyone looking for an upgrade and some of the best new features offered in SLR Cameras.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, video quality
Cons: built in mic

I've been a user of Canon cameras for many years this is the first DSLR I've purchased, film was what I have used. But I must say the 7D is the best it is easy to use size is great I have large hands I like the feel of it its just like putting on glove it work great. Wonderful picture cycle rate too, I started out with fast CF UDMA cards the only way to go. This will be my number one camera from now on, the film camera will be put rest for now. So if your looking Buy the 7D.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
