7D is amazing, i upgrade from 50D which i think the images quality is a big step! the tone and details are much better. plus the wireless built in, it is beautiful. the only thing is I hope canon next time make the radio wireless so it won't effect by the bright sun light or each speedlite sensor has to facing the camera =/
but over all.. this camera is very nice. right next to the 5D mark ii, very close.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
I have been a Canon camera owner since 1974. My wife just bought me the Canon 7D for Christmas (I was a good boy and was wishing for it very hard) and I am learning more and more about it every day. I enjoy shooting sports events and with the 7D it's very easy to get that great shot that you would see on the cover of SI. At 8fps you will not miss any of the action. From your kids to the pro's this is the camera for all those sports events. The 7D seems to be the Swiss Army knife of cameras and it doesn’t stop there. I take it with me everywhere so I won't miss that fumble; the kid's having fun or that blooming flower. Enjoy life with a Canon 7D!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
I have been shooting high school sports and theater for over 25 years. The 7D does great low light photography. I can shoot night sports and basketball with out a flash. The photos at 6400 iso are good enough for professional publication. The buttons on the back are bigger and easier to use than the ones on my EOS1D. The 18 megapixel card gives great detail at 400 iso. I haven't had to shoot in RAW with the 7D because the jpegs have so much detail. I use the vertical hand grip to make it easier to hold when using a telephoto lens. The battery last a very long time.
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu
As an owner of a 5D Mark 2, I thought when I bought my 7D that it would get little action. I really purchased it as a backup and sports camera only (because of the 8fps for under $2k) and never intended to use it for anything else. The 5D2 had all the other scenarios covered but now that I have it, I love it. I use it for everything from weddings to personal pictures. This camera makes capturing my 3 yr old niece easy. Definently recommend this camera to anyone that needs to capture a moving subject.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, fast everything
This camera is the best Canon I've purchased so far. Of all the Canon's I've owned (20D, 40D, 5D) I love this camera. Excellent battery life, the controls are perfectly placed and user friendly. The focus mechanism is fast and accurate. The sensor chip has allowed me to capture excellent images with low noise in low light. The video capability is awesome. the 1080 HD quality is professional movie. One down side is the mic/sound area. In most professional cases you still need a separate mike. You can't monitor the sound levels while recording. A headphone jack would be nice. Otherwise an excellent experience.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
This 7D was purchased as soon that it came out. It was an upgrade from my 50D (also a great camera). I have kept up with the firmware up-grades which is very easy from the canon web site. This camera has it all, I would have up-graded again by now, but to what? At this time there is no other camera that has all the features of the 7D. I will consider the new 5Dmark? when it comes out, however to beat the 7D it will really have to be something.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great price
I got this for a trip to Africa and couldn't get it away from my wife. We both loved it. The controls were intuitive and easy to remember. Image quality was fantastic. The camera stood up to all the dust, dirt, and rain Africa threw at us.
If you're looking for a professional camera do yourself a favor and look at the 7D.
